I am never giving up the chunky loafers. I love them. I wear them when I don’t feel like wearing trainers. Ballerina flats are uncomfortable and I have never looked good in them. I need some height! That’s why I am all in with anything platforms. The Schutz Carrie has been a staple for me since 6 years ago.

hahaha oh my gosh your commentary always makes my day - from the intrusive thoughts to the art girl in detention I was cackling the whole way through 😹 the loafers vs ballet flats thing is such a perfect example of knowing your personal style. even though ballet flats may be big this year, that is so far from my personal style, whereas the chunky loafers very much are my vibe. but you never have to worry about being “out” if you feel like yourself in whatever you are wearing-that effortlessness always transcends trends.

I remember back in the early ‘70’s, my era of platform shoe popularity, many injuries occurred. Sort of like falling off a curb onto the side of your foot. Ouch! And clogs when you would hit your ankle with your other clog encased foot just by walking. I did keep clogs for years as they made great hammers in a pinch. I love fashion and thanks for making it fun to watch Cassie!

Just bought the Prada loafers in December and can tell you they are not off trend. The gold were sold out and the last black pair I bought. While I was paying, 3 people asked for Prada loafers. The SA said “see! We can’t keep them in stock.” I wanted the gold originally and there were none at ANY US Prada stores. So definitely not out.

Great report, Cassie!!! As for the footwear trends for 2023, although I've never been a Miu Miu fan, I absolutely love those biker style knee boots and would definitely rock them. But, I'll just get out my Matisse-brand distressed black/grey biker knee boots from about a decade ago. They also have silver buckles down the sides. I've been buying their boots since the company started in the early 2000s. It's an L.A. footwear company that makes some great trendy footwear. As for loafers, they'll never go out as they're a footwear stable. I'll soon be wearing my new Ferragamo silver-studded, (minimum) lug sole Gancini loafers. I'm just waiting for the end of the rainy season. At present, Ferragamo has 49 pairs of women's loafers on its website. As for the ballet shoes, not for me. They've come and gone so many times that I have lost track. I'm one for purchasing footwear that has some kind of support. The designers need to stop with the repeat of the jelly and PVC faze. Jelly shoes first came out in the 50s and 60s although popular in the 80s. I remember them in the 60s. Have the designers' creative juices just dried up? As for all of the platform styles of footwear, I'll pass on them. I used to wear them in high school in the early 70s and I also remember a girl falling off of hers and breaking her leg. Some of the platform styles look good and power to those who can wear them, but they can be dangerous. Broken/twisted ankles/broken legs or worse. As for the oversized skater sneaker trend, not for me. I can't even imagine the look of them in my footwear size, 40.5/41. They'd look like floating boats. LOL! Greetings from Los Angeles

So lucky most of these trends are not tempting to me. For once I can sit back and just enjoy the show without worrying if I am missing out on the fun. Nope to transparent shoes, no to rubber ( rain shoes) and a resounding no to barely there sandals ( this solely bc of the SIZE of my feet 😅). Although the Saint Laurent trendy sandals with fluffy feathers were right up my alley and I got them in 2 colorways 😊 Great run up! Loved loved it. Why is Wednesday suddenly too far away? My sister had a back issue some years ago, when the trend was first around 🙊😆 Her chiropractor told her to stop wearing ballerina flats as your shoe should have a slight heel which is much better for your back.

I went to a Baptist school and ballet flats were the easiest shoes that fit the bill for the dress code (no ankles, no toes; sneakers only on sports days) and went with every outfit. Got mine from H&M and maybe that's why, but I find ballet flats so uncomfortable. However, they are nostalgic. It's just funny to see the exact shoe design I used to rock from elementary to at least 7th grade on the runway (specifically Todds 😆)

From a Marathoner: NO TO PVC !!! Gross but true: I knew PVC was bad for EVERYTHING, but I spent 12 hours in a pair of these last Summer, and now I'm on oral anti-fungal medication attempting to kill a toenail fungus that will make it basically impossible to run without special shoe guards, and say bye-bye to pretty sandals. NOW: long-distance runners know that toenails fall off, and you have to take care of your feet. But condensation is very bad for your toenails, (and I live in the VERY-DRY mountains of Colorado) steer clear. Cassie, I'm new to your channel, but love the videos, and your energy - I apologize for my first comment to be the plot of "The Last of Us."
