I’ve always heard stories about how the “bonuses” in the KHL are better and tax-free. You score a hat trick? Owner hands you a brown paper bag with 10k in it after the game.

They are likely true. I had a few buddies play there over the years and some stories are pretty scary. One buddy found out he got cut because someone stole his paper bag of money paycheck during practice. I asked him if he went to the police. He looked at me and rolled his eyes and said, I got the first plane out of the country. Some stories I can not tell and some when you read the official explanation you can see how history gets rewritten.

@@TheChupacabra Somethings are better left unsaid. But if i was gonna share stories the Biz collection would be priceless. You think hes funny on spittin, you should spend some time in the dressing room or drinking with him. My ex did not like my hockey player buddies but she loved Biz. He was one of the few guys I was allowed to bring over for a beer. She thought he was such a kind, polite young man.... lol But he is a stand up guy. I was supper impressed with the kid when in 2008 he went from rock star d man in the coast to forward in the show. I played on a line with him that summer and he was one of the best skaters on our team but I he had no idea what he was doing inside the other blue line. But he really held his own on the wing in the show which is a big enough challenge to somebody that is a forward going into the big times. I am not much of a stats guy but I know of very few guys that had his role that ended their career with an over all plus. Puts him in the top half of the league in that category. One good thing about Covid, makes you look back on the Good times.

@@SeahawkSTRIKE No. Its how they get around the contract. You can keep playing but we are going to keep stealing your paycheck. I had another buddy that had something similar happen but it is a little more sensitive so I can not talk about it, and the account on wikipedia is not what went down. Another team in the K picked him up anyway. Its a different business paradigm and courts are not terribly reliable in Russia. Biz and Whitney talked about Whitneys experiences in the K. I have not seen the vid though, but it ain't like it is here.
