I don't know if you talked to a Filipina long but you will notice that if are talking and a contradictory point comes up that you can tell she wants to express herself, she will not do it. She will not stand up for herself and not have an opinion. She will get quiet and you know the conversation is over. It never really feels you can come to an agreement unless you already agree. It's not good. But they are very sweet so you never want to hurt them and you will have to just accept that will just be another thing you cannot talk about. It's happened so many times with me that I start to think it is not my girlfriend but the culture she is in. And I see her eyes and can tell she wants to express herself but is trapped. Yeah it is not a mature thing. Mature is expressing yourself even to men you are intimidated by.

So when I recognize it I start talking to her in a way that makes it easier for her to answer the questions even if I have to prod and encourage her a little bit. To the point where she’s just doing all the talking expressing herself completely and naturally. But it does take some extra effort on your part knowing she has that problem. You can’t just expect instant results because you want them.

I know I am late but I had to respond. I feel you bro, I truly do. It is the same in Europe, the newage corruption of the mindset and behavior ruining everything. Met a Venezuelan woman last year and flew to Colombia to spend a month with her as a couple for vacations. Once I saw her energy in person I was hooked, we are getting married this year. It's like a dream come true, these people are on another level!

Many men here in the states are walking away from modern day females; There are many reasons for this but it's a widely known issue here. Regarding the comments about the best place to find a Filipina for marriage is to find someone from the province, what is also important to understand is that a very large chunk, or percentage, of Filipinas working in the cities are actually from the province.

As a man married to a filipina i met in the phils, i can say one of the attractions is simplicity. She has old school values i agree with. Women in the US are complex with a lot of baggage. My wife IS NOT a stay home type. She is very independent, smart and very ambitious. She would have probably been successful even if she stayed there. But there is something “old school” in her psyche that is different from US girls. I saw that spark and was immediately attracted to her.

"All" about the money? Of course not. That's a Red Herring. Money is however very important. In interviews with Filipinas who haven't been schooled on proper responses the answers to "love ot money" about 50% of Filipinas answer "money" and for others it looks to be a difficult choice. There's nothing wrong with this view. It's practical and instinctual for a woman to want a man who can provide AND be kind, respectful, etc... No different than men's first attraction being to beauty and youth because that's instinctual for men. Our species has depended on these instincts. Filipinas looking for foreigner men have been taught what these men want and don't want to hear. Saying money is important makes some moron foreigners scream "GOLD DIGGER". This is exactly the same as men in the US having sex #1 on their mind but can't admit that when meeting a woman. In both cases both parties know exactly what's going on but we have to create this fantasy that money - sex is not #1. Kind of silly, but that's he game.

Interesting take on dating a foreigner. I know most Expats coming to the Philippines never have so it is also exciting for many of these men. Especially the younger women. My one concern was a pregnancy when still married to a Filipino as this is red flag adultery. You also did not ask if her fiance was permanently in the Philippines. He is not responsible as a man should practice safe sex until a divorce or annulment occurs. The Marites or a relative could file a case against her man as any party can file a case when there is a crime and the evidence was showing. I hope for her sake this does not happen. Age gaps are also common in many Hispanic cultures.. Many of the foreign women who are coming to the USA become Americanized which gives a wring impression. I was lucky in my past to meet foreign women who were not Americanized. I met my German girlfriend while running in downtown Orlando. This was an LDR with trips back and forth. My Chinese gf was separated from a police officer who had a psychiatric retirement. She owned an import export business. Both of these ladies had traditional cultural values. The Cuban gf I had was Americanized as she came to the US at 14. That ultimately became a problem as our relationship was adversely affected by her family and friends. In Florida there are women from hundreds of countries. I have been on dates with women from 15-20 countries. I never generalize about women from any country as most are a blend of mixed cultures once in the USA. This is why the Philippines is so different if the Filipina has never been in a relationship with a foreigner before. But the one thing I see is social media is ruining many Filipinas and aspects of the culture. I hope to see more relationship videos like this.

Hello Ms. Pea. This is an off subject comment. I want to personally thank you for the content of your videos. So many Vloggers in the Philippines start their videos off by asking someone to hit the like button, subscribe and click on the notification bell. Because I view many you tubers videos, many vloggers have become stagnant with their content. Talking about new passport bros, videoing walking down the same streets, can barely enunciate their words while making their videos and the worst of the worst are the ones that constantly repeat themselves within the video. I performed my own 2 week study by only listening to certain vloggers without actually watching the video. It was apparent that just listening to the video sounded almost the same as a video that person had previously made. It was like listening to the song Ice Ice Baby repeatedly. You obviously put much thought into your content. Being a foreigner with a filipna (Note, I don’t like the word foreigner anymore due to the split living we have in the Philippines and the U.S.) my relationship with my Love dates back to the late 90’s. Both of us are in our golden years. I remember your first video. I knew then you were someone special. You have produced great product in the You Tube world. @Phil 85032 One of the things I love about Pea's videos is that there are layers to them, and they are often more cerebral than you might expect. I'm guessing this is a subtle social comment (without commenting) on the gender politics being played out in the world at present and often in schools by the teaching profession. I doubt Pea will confirm or deny, but she will probably be happy that it was noticed and that we are talking about it.

I've said it many times to friends when they ask me why I always ask friends that are female for their take on a situation I have with a girlfriend at the time, "if you want to know how to repair an engine, you talk to a mechanic, not a plumber. Philippinas just seem so genuine and Western women are so opposite of that. Western women claiming Filipinas just want foreigners for their money is so shallow. They are the same here, women here only date men that have more than they do to. I live in San Francisco, i tried dating women of the same or better social class than myself. When they find out my income is only in the low 6 digits (not rich for this area), i never hear from them again. It's not Filipinas that do this, it's all women. Finding a sweet sincere woman, even if she doesn't have much, is sounding pretty good to me now.
