Cool Video!! I did a couple of KCBS/UBS cook-offs when I lived in Utah in the early 2000's. I also took 2nd place in the open division of the State BBQ Championship - with smoked salmon. You're right... a person can go from kindergarden to grad school in 1 or 2 cookouts!!

Hi Tom Great video, and well done to Brian Thinking of getting a barrel smoker, which would you recommend, trouble is I'm in the UK, limited to what I can get, do you rate the W.S.M thanks Dave UK

Thanks for watching Dave! The WSM is a solid cooker the 22” would be my recommendation

Great video Tom. I have been a judge with KCBS for a few years now and I am always amazed at the time, dedication and the $$$ it takes to compete. Congrats to Brian also. Looking at his turn in's I would have scored 9's across the board for presentation.

Man I used to live in E-burg! I miss the Midwest! And the Q! Out west it’s more about the sauce. :( What the heck I should be able to eat brisket, chops, steak, chicken and everything else and be totally happy without having to sauce it!

Those chicken thighs look killer. What do you do with the extra meat that doesn't get turned in?
