I've got a 2001 Nissan Frontier SV-V6 4x4 with 226k miles. It's the best truck my family's had. I bought it from my dad, who had inherited it from my grandfather. Best truck ever made.

Tacoma and Tundra are on top and then maybe the frontier
@jonathancummins25542 ай бұрын
@@koaladoeseverythingunfortunately the 2023-2024 Tundra and Tacoma have been running into issue after issue since their release, putting the Frontier further up the chain! However, we will see how Toyota works out the kinks with their 2025 models, I’m really hoping they listen to their customer base! I will say the Frontier is an exceptional little truck! I’ve had the Pro 4X for about 5 months now and have had zero complaints so far. The only thing that I can come up with is the recall that was sent out about an improperly sized ball bearing, which Nissan promptly took care of!

Like most, I gravitated to the Taco because.....well that's where the rest of the herd went. After seeing the 2024 Taco prices and the turbo, it was adios Toyota. This was the first time I looked at a Frontier and I like everything about it. It is definitely "old school" but in a good way. Everything you need and more with none of the stuff you don't need. The frame and suspension are well proven, the engine powerful, and the transmission silky smooth. Simple and reliable hydraulic steering and manual foot activated e-brake. Do people really need an electronic e-brake with motors that can fail when the brakes are locked and require a special procedure just to change brake pads? Even disk rear brakes that the Taco did not get till 2024. Just bought a 2024 Pro-X at $5,500 under MSRP with zero dealer add-ons for icing on my cake.

@Monster-5192 ай бұрын
I honestly feel like the new Tacoma styling copied the current Frontier styling. The Frontier has boxy designs in certain spots and the Tacoma copied that and then put a very expensive price on the Tacoma which makes it very unaffordable and I'm not talking the Top trim, but I'm talking about the lowest trims.

@@clarkkent9080 They also have a much nicer integrated center stack that does not look like it came out of a Rogue. They must have strengthened the frame as it has 500 lbs more tow. That's is substantially more. They finally put a telescopic steering wheel which will really benefit some drivers. Redesigned front end which you will like or not. I personally think it looks better. Also like the new P4X rims. A bit of a retro look in those. There is enough there that I would also wait if I were in the market. But I'll keep driving my 2019 P4X. I do agree its not enough to trade from an existing 22-24 or even a 2019 like mine. Because underneath it all is still a VQ motor and an F-alpha frame.
@clarkkent9080Ай бұрын
@@HiPlains1 Nissan has provided all the details on the 2025 Frontier and there were no changes to the frame, suspension, brakes, or power train. The 500lb increased towing is a technical paper upgrade only so every 2022-2025 can technically tow the same. I understand that some people may benefit from the telescoping steering wheel, but the 2" of travel, and that is standard in most telescoping wheels is insignificant for the average person. They moved some buttons in the center stack so that could add that frontier logo, something that is good or bad depending on your likes. Other than standard options, wheel designs, and pricing there have been few important changes between 2022 and 2025. I purchased a 2024 PX mainly because of the significant discounts that some dealers are now offering. When you factor in that with the 2025 increase in MSRP and shipping, you are essentially paying $5-7K more for a telescoping steering wheel, larger screen, and cosmetic changes. If you look at the MSRP for the exact same 2024 Frontier built in Dec 2023, to one built in June 2024, the price (MSRP and shipping) increased $2,000. While the 2025 Frontier pricing has yet to be released, the new 2025 Rouge increased $3,000 in MSRP and a few hundred in shipping. And don't expect any deals at least until the 2026s are about to be released.

@@HiPlains1 The significant jump in the towing capacity is what made me decide - "Yep I want to get that in the future". I do plan on towing a travel trailer occasionally (long term goal) but while I need a truck bed, I can't justify daily driving a half-ton and these trucks are gigantic. I Feel like the frontier is a wonderful compromise and the go-to alternative to the Tacoma, which has disappointed many.

I picked up a new 2024 Crew Cab SV in February. My only complaint is that while the transmission does shift quickly and smoothly, from time to time it seems to get confused and not know what gear to be in. Supposedly that issue works itself out before 10k, I'm only at 5k, so i'm hoping it does. Other than that, I love the truck. It looks great (got mine in tactical green), it has plenty of power, the cabin has all the amenities that I'm interested in, the seats are very comfortable, and the drivetrain seems to be pretty reliable so far, here's hoping it is longterm.
