Hey buddy... good move. I did the same about 14 years back and sold my business and headed to China. Met the girl of my dreams in a restaurant by the Himalayas (Couldn't read the menu) and now married and and have a 9 year old. Back in Aussie, happy as Nick! So... be bold and enjoy your freedom. Great walkabout video Nick. I've never been up some of those Soi's, but you have inspired me to take a stroll next visit. BTW, I believe that big tree @11:35 is a 'Yang Na Yai' tree. I know this because we have a very similar looking tree at the back of our property in Chiang Mai (white trunk in colour and very tall). I only found it's name out as I asked the developers what it was so I know the name of it if it comes down on our house 😂 See you in Soi 7 in a few weeks!

Stayed in the Seven Zea in Soi 5 with my family back in 2012 and it was new then so probably opened 12 years ago. Very nice inside, clean and modern with rooftop pool.

Sorry to hear about the staff and family illness your right about Thais they do like to help in these situations which admire even if there not real family can be a problem for Farang to understand. I stayed at the Blue Sky hotel last year August. Vert nice hotel with huge rooms. Well kept n friendly staff (Breakfast was free on saturday and sunday..) Rooftop pool. I only noticed the daily rate went up to 1200 THB now (was 950 then). Still not expensive for what you get.

My first trip to pattaya 23 years ago i stayed in soi 4 near tops...great area to stay..been coming ever since, now days prefer to stay jomtien area.super chilled place to stay and only short baht bus ride to Central pattaya.

After one of my mishaps Hashing travelling back from PI I ended up in A&E at that Hospital they had to drain a leg wound! A day latter i was coping with NHS in UK. Kept my card in case of emergency good care.

Hi, Guys. I haven't been up to North Pattaya for a good few years. It is incredible just how many hotels they have built up there. You are right, it would be a nice quiet place to stay during your holiday. But given that north Pattaya is now up and coming, It is unlikely to be cheap, however, if you like your massages, "Which I do" then you would be spoiled for choice. Back in the day, there were also, some great little bars there, I mostly went there during the day for some afternoon delight. I had a couple of friends who lived in one of the hotels there, I think even back then these hotels weren't cheap, but they were only ever in Pattaya for two or three weeks at a time, so I don't think they really cared about the price. Another new restaurant on Soi 7. Soi 7 looks like it is back to normal now. Thinking back to how it was back during the lockdowns, I thought it would take a good bit longer than it has to get back to normal, I reckon all the work that you have done there has gone a long way to inspire others to do something similar. Used to ❤ soi 4 in 2002,on my first visit to pattaya ,beer bars at the top end,Cherry bar,Altlantic bar etc..took me TWO WEEKS to make it to walking st..now that blew my mind back then,add over 70bt to the pound.good memories. Does look nice that part of town nowadays and not far from soi😈

I had a ghost experience about 10 years ago in a hotel in Soi Honey. I won't name the hotel as it was my regular. I found out from the cleaning staff that it had been reported before. A Canadian had murdered his Thai girlfriend and dismembered her on the 8th floor and was later extradited back to face trial. It only happened once but it was pretty scary. It was witnessed by my new bar friend too .

Nick I have been staying at Bella villa prima with my children and grandchildren for over 20 years very great safe place to stay and have stayed at hotel vista once it was a good hotel but service was mediocre and for your information the pataya international hospital on soi 4 is a very good quality hospital and service.

I've been twice at Paradise Land Resort and twice at Pattaya Blue Sky. Soi 5 is a very quiet street very near of one the most sexy fun action places in the world: Soi 6.

Been to the hospital many years ago was sick as dog whilst they were talking some xrays they told me i needed to pay 20,000 bt deposit, so i paid for the xrays and went home. The hospital system is ruthless to us foreigners.

Not had an update yet but we managed to contact his insurance and they passed on next of kin which is his son. His son flew out the next day and is taking care of things.

I hope he gets help. hopefully a hospital will sort him out 🙏🏼 I like the walkabout vlogs showing other soi there are some hidden gems if you are looking for a quiet soi for a hotel and as I call them Ma and Pa restaurants for decent Thai food, soi 4&5 have decent transport either side of the soi. See everyone in the beginning of September sampling a few Singha in the bars.

Yeah it has since been sorted out his son has flown in to take care of him. The two other ladies who collapsed have recovered. Memo sent to everyone reminding them to drink plenty of water. Oh and yes there was two who collapsed the other after I finished making this video.

It's the older buildings and hotels that have suffered from the COVID pandemic and are struggling to keep going or subject to renovation .Otherwise they just close .

You are correct. I just filmed Soi 10 which is literally another hotel soi but those that didn't reopen are all old. Covid was probably the final nail for them.

Would prefer proper German sausages to English ones. The latter more often than not look and taste like they are meant for recycling slaughterhouse waste as animal food rather than for human consumption.

Hi, here is one of your German subscribers and as someone who lived for 8 years in Pattaya I have to react your quote about German sausages. Well if you had TGM or S.S. Sausages in your mind, I would agree. The good quality and taste of German butchery you get in Foodland, (at my time only at South Pattaya Road) fresh from the counter or packed with a "Butchers Choice" logo. If you never tried, you have to.
