As for what the future of Saints Row is, I would be happy with a retcon of SRTT and all after, a soft reboot that either started at One and set the story straight, to what it was supposed to be in the beginning, or a soft reboot that started BEFORE One, to show that founding of The Saints, then carried on to fix the story to what it was supposed to be... Or, even though this would be my least favorite option, a hard reboot that brought back the OG style. So long as they do it right and the city feels alive, and it is open (meaning buildings and other locations), and highly explorable, and we have a GOOD and relatable cast of characters, then I would be down for it.

I'd be fine with them retconning SRTT and SR4 because it doesn't really add anything to the story from SR2. It could have but it doesn't. Though I'd be fine with keeping SRTT and just ignoring SR4 if I had to pick one, because SR4 doesn't continue off of SRTT, its plot was just the alien crap and call backs. Its inessential.

Just imagine in Saints Row 5 there will be a 4 types of storyline like GTA Episodes of Liberty City. 1. Prequel 2. Killing Dex 3. Alternative Saints Row 4 for Johnny fans. 4. Time Traveling for Saints Row 4 fans. That would be awesome for both OG's and New school fans or Volition could make this storylines one by one. I hope SR5 will not go like GTA and showing different characters.

5:39 I don't really like that because it just sounds like a rehash of SR2's plot. As for the Gat being dead thing, they can just retcon that and say he wasn't. Say he survived the plane crash on an island or something, or he was in prison from STAG and had no way to call the Saints at the time, similar to when Shaundi was captured. I mean thats not as farfetched as saying he was actually taken by fucking aliens before SRTT started.

I really like the sr4 and gat out of hell being movies, because it fits the time line The original vision of sr4 was also that we face off an evil Johnny gat clone who conquered another city with some other gangs. that would be a great idea. So you can bring Johnny back and have another gangster saints row

I think that SR5 is going to be a sequel to SR4 and that Gat Out of Hell & Agents of Mayhem were non-canon and retconned as "afterlife death & afterlife life comic books" and that they are going to use time travel to travel back to Stilwater & Steelport but they then find out that there are new cities that need to be take over and then they go to another city.

i'd honestly love an actual sequel to Saints Row 2. If they retconed Saints Row The Third and had a sequel to Saints Row 2 where we can actually get revenge on Dex and tie up the storyline with Troy.

with the whole time machine ending they can pull anything with that entire universe - they can try out any possible scenario with any of the characters they have. like you want an OG type of Saints Row taking place in the hood but you liked Matt Miller for some reason? here, this is a new Saints Row game set in old school Stilwater and Matt Miller is the only guy in the gang who can use a computer. the other gang members include Julius, Gat, Troy, Dex, Lin and - for instance - Oleg, for some reason. explanation? well the Saints were going back in time and they fucked shit up, idk. if it's going to be the first major new instalment in the saga in almost 10 years then some kind of reset will have to be done to keep things new and fresh for old and new fans, so there's lots of room for creativity there and they can assemble the world of the game however they want - i'd like them to have a core idea of what kind of game they want to develop first and only then come up with a story because i think that allows them the best to make their design goals clear and it makes for a coherent game the idea i've had in mind was making SR5 into somewhat of a flashback to the 2000s - think of how Vice City was an homage to the 80s and apply it to the Saints Row series. Vice City took place in 1986 and was released in 2002 - a 16 years gap. Saints Row 1 was released and took place in 2006, and assuming SR5 comes out in 2022 it would also be a 16 years gap. i wouldn't want it to be nostalgic and shove us that sentimentalism down our throats, but I do think it would be able to connect with the players and bring something new to the table. just one of the ideas

I would have start a reboot with a game in the past. The first game is set in 1970s where King Ben and Julis are the main characters taking on the Carnles and two other gangs in a new Stilwater. Stilwater will have a countryside and mutiple cities like San Andreas.

All I have to say is that if saints row gets a new game they will try to look in the past 5 games and which ones sold more (combine the 1st 2 games in my opinion) and go off the concept of those games which would be sr3 and 4.

As an old school fan i think we deserve more then throwed bones with new sr. Specially after all these years. The truth is after sr2 series upgraded by graphics but downgraded with everything else. And everybody who played all can feel that.

I also don't think the separate universes would be likely or work. I think it would just split the resources or confuse people if they release one over the other between each game, and THQ would just see SRTT's timeline selling more to the mainstream/casual crowd and thus it would be the one getting more likely investment. Unless they were just to get another company to outsource development on one side, like they did with SRIV and GOOH. New school fans don't care as much about their story anyway. I just doubt they'd do it. They'd most likely just keep one, but they'd need to keep the story grounded. If they wanted an alien game, or a Disney demon parody they could have made that its own thing without using the Saints in it.

I think what they should go from here is make saints row 5 take place after 3 and have saints row 4 and gat out of hell like a saints movie that the saints was doing to promote the saints brand . I also think the setting of saints row 5 should be in both Stellport and stillwater and the story should be like 5 years after the events of SR3 nee gangs are trying to take over both still water and still port and it's up to saints to take back control of both citites by any means. The gameplay can be a mix of 2 and three and have like new activities like turf take overs and like more cribs but like you can sleep in it and costumize the cribs or like expand on the celeb vibe by having the saints run a business under the brand and you go out and give out autographs and do things like acting in movies as activities all while doing the main story of gaining control of both citites

I honestly want SR1 remade. It needs it the most. Better audio quality, HD, smoothed out gameplay (like SRTT'), maybe even a female option. Actual translation for the subtitles... etc.

Dude your ideas are amazing, just perfect ideas but sadly I feel like Volition doesn't care anymore about Saints Row. Don't get me wrong they might make a new Saints Row Game but I will feel that it might come out boring or just another Saints vs Alien thing.

I appreciate it man! I don't know, something tells me that Volition's putting their all into the next Saints game. After all, as mentioned in the video, SR4 was a last minute decision. I think Volition knows it's time for a gangsta made SR!

I really love the time travel idea, I think it would be amazing. As much as I love the original games, Saints Row has come too far to just go back to the SR1/2 style (in my opinion). The Saints Row games constantly go more and more over-the-top with things like zombies, brutes, aliens, literal demons... it would be hard for me personally to play a Saints Row game that isn't even more over-the-top than the previous games.

Do people really want the whole "City ran by clones of the most evil people" story though? I don't. However if it was a muddled timeline where those most evil people were actually their historical counterparts and not just random clones. It might make more sense but ... that sounds like a plot better suited for Agents of Mayhem, to be honest. Not OG Saints Row.

I incorporated the evil people storyline as a continuation of SR4 in a way that would make sense and fit within the continuity of the time travel ending. They aren't clones, the clone part was part of the scrapped SR4 story. My version has them being ripped right from their respective time periods and become the leaders of their own set of land. It's pretty much an excuse to bring gang warfare back into the series if the games are indeed headed towards that direction.

@@sizzurpmp3 I know, the alternate of them being people ripped from time as opposed to being clones makes more sense and I get its a possibility to be the SRV plot but I personally wouldn't want that if i had to choose. It just seems like something from Time Splitters or what I'd expect from AOM. Its not really actually urban or gangster enough for me but I get the logic. Gangs if nothing else.

@@GeteMachine i mean, after an alien invasion, one would find it hard to believe someone would willingly move right back into urban gang warfare, especially if a time machine is involved. Again though, this is just a "what if" scenario, if Volition decides to continue a sci-fi theme the next SR game. Not saying it should happen, I'm just throwing out the possibility.

A game in the 70s wouldn’t to be interesting to me 🤮 I prefer modern day or early 2000s 👍🏾 I hope they let someone, else remake sr1 game since they should focus on new games rather than remaking older ones.
