I'm a medical student planning to specialise in Infectious Diseases. Sometimes I feel scared and hopeless watching where our world is going towards: the repercussions of overuse of antibiotics, especially by the meat industry where they don't seem to care for the consequences, are something that I will have to face personally in the future. This video really truly helps. And same as always, hopelessness is fought with information. Keep doing your great work. Thanks everyone.

Injection is the only way to get an animal virus. See FDA's immunization schedule for the list of poisons, metals & animal virus injected into children.

Antibiotic overuse in the farming industry is a huge contributor to the development of resistant strains and something which needs a lot more attention.

As a layperson, I'm so curious! Can we draw conclusions as to whether telehealth has positively or negatively impacted the overuse of antibiotics? Are there foods which naturally have antibiotic properties and would eating them yield any useful results? I feel as though antibiotic overuse has been public knowledge for at least ten years -- has that had any slowdown effect on prescription rates so far? Why is this channel not more popular?

Kurzgesagt did an excellent video on this topic and the resistance to phages is even more interesting than just "endless supply in nature". Bateria can actually become resistent to phages attack BUT they lose their resistence to antibiotics when they do. So if we are able to develop phages as a viable alternative to antibiotics, we habe the bateria trapped in a Catch-22.

How are people supposed to know whether an antibiotic is necessary or not? The fault lies with the doctors overprescribing, not with the patients themselves.

I think the real issue is communication. Most of the time patients demand antibiotics because they want a quick fix and threaten doctors with bad reviews if they don’t get what they want. But patients demand quick fix in the first place possibly because they’ve experienced medical gaslighting before so they are afraid of not getting better. It’s a vicious cycle 😢

I avoid antibiotics like a plague my whole life and wouldn’t want anything to do with it if I’m not about to die or go handicapped from an infection. I’ve had strep throat so bad like there were blades in there, wounds leaking pus, etc. but basic hygiene and wound care takes care of everything for me every single time! I know it takes longer to recover but I just cover up my wound in bandages or wear mask and live my life as usual 🤷♀️
