Hey Ange, I heard from a little birdie Bunnings is preparing to sell variegated monsteras so keep an eye out! There's a chance you can get them for more reasonable prices from there 😉

I believe that's actually a syngonium tri colour, red spot is the non variegated version. A red spot will set you back about $200, a tri colour will set you back $2000-5000. I managed to cross off two big unicorns, an Albo (which by some miracle I won!) and a strawberry shake. Now I have my eyes on anthurium luxurians, anthurium regale, aurea monstera and syngonium!

Albos are getting pretty cheap around Europe, I've already seen one leaf cuttings for 30-35 euros in my country (Finland). Thai Constellations are much more elusive, can't even remember seeing them anywhere. I actually have two callistophyllas, short and long leaf and they weren't that expensive. Short leaf about 50 euros for 6 leaves and long leaf 20 euros for 6-7 leaves. It's weird how different the supply and prices are around the world.
@plantyange2 жыл бұрын
I should move to Europe haha! It’s the same in aus with the Thai - they got released like 2 years ago and not many since

I just got a 3 leafed Variegated Monstera for 50 Euro in Duisburg, Germany. We are bordering the Netherlands here which are known for mass producing plants. I'm sorry about the prices in Australia!

In the EU you can easily get a mid cutting of a Monstera albo for 30-50 Euros, established plants with 4-6 leaves would range between 90 and 150 Euros. They‘ve become decently affordable here

In America albos are super expensive too! Cuttings about 200-400 & full plants for 600 & up depending on the size but I somehow Locally in my small Amish town found a full 6 leaf mature albo for 500!

Nice video. I am from the Netherlands. A Monstera albo cutting costs around 25-50 euro's here. Wetsticks are even cheaper (15-30). Did u try to look abroad (if they have a phyto certificate)?

Omg that is such a bargain! You aren’t allowed to import plants into Australia 😭😭

My wishlist (only if AUD$50 or less) Treubii Moonlight, Philo Brandi, Alocasia Cuprea, Peperomia Maculata. I can probably get the latter two in Australia without difficulty. Just waiting for stock to come back and the right price.

Oooh good choices! Definitely a good idea to wait on the prices to drop. I’ve actually seen small cuttings of the Brandi for like $40 on Facebook!

I was shocked by the Albo price. It’s going down and down in the EU. Now a 17cm pot plant is 100-120 euro from garden shop. Last winter was 120-150 euro. And if you buy from private seller it’s much cheaper because anyone who likes Albo already has one. I have a middle size one and a full floor plant at home. I found borsigiana is neater than deliciosa in my small living room. Hope your local price will calm down soon.

I'm thinking about a florida ghost. But honestly I'm not that sure if it's just the hype which makes me considering it. On the one hand I like that its colour is changing but on the other hand its leaves makes me think the plant belongs outside instead of being inside. 2nd would be the anthurium crystallinum. But I'm too afraid of anthurium (yet).
@plantyange2 жыл бұрын
I am also trying to decide if I like the ghost as much as everyone else 🙈 Honestly my Crystallinum is the easiest of all my anthurium - you should get one!

Nice wishlist! I have a Hoya callistophylla. It’s just a small 3 leave baby, but loving it so far. Probably will take years for it to grow but haha worth the wait! Wasn’t too pricy either, but then again it’s small. Why are plants so pricy? It is crazy!! My wishlist plant at the moment is the aglaonema pictum tricolor. Haven’t seen it here in the US yet, but hopefully soon!
