Hey @August Hunicke. You are the main actor, director, cinematographer, editor and, producer. Whatever camera view that makes you happy, we viewers are all in for what you are publishing.

Really appreciate hearing your thought processes and witnessing your great situational awareness. Measure twice, cut once, but you're measuring cause and effect and consequences. Good stuff. Also, I think most viewers would prefer the wider view. You have to remember that you are there with your own eyeballs, so you have a real world comparsion for how distorted the footage is. We don't have that reference so it's not all that significant for us, we just want the visual information, and superview gets us more. Cheers and thanks for sharing your work with us.

I agree with Jeff, he's awesome! The superwide works well, the little bit of "fish-eye" effect doesn't hurt anything. And the addition of the ground cam was nice. Great work as always!

I had a visit with an old climber today. He started Tree Climbers International. He asked how old I was. I told him 45. He said you have 10 prime years. He also said at the end of the tunnel tree inspection is where it's at here in Atlanta. There isn't a lot of people that solely inspect trees. I am getting real sick of working for these big box store tree "services". I so miss the down to earth hanging out with your people getting it done. The opportunity for that may come today. Old school called. He is tired and wants his canopy and clients taken care of still. I am your man old school.🙂

I use superview maybe 98% of the time for the exact reason you explained. Yes, it does distort the edges a lot but, it gives a great view of the work area. Jeff is flexing hard running that rope. I think he may have done this a few times. 😉 Another video showing the MonkeyBeaver crew making hard work look easy. Keep yourselves safe! 😃👍❤️🌲 Randy

TIP: don't wear your socks out in the rain. lol Years ago a the son of a good friend of mine was a brand new waiter (his first day of his first job) at a small local restaurant. Well my soon-to-be wife and I happened to be maybe his second customers. Yup he was pretty nervous but did a good job. Anyway after the meal I wrote my above on the 'tip' on the placemat...hahaha. of course the real tip was just under the placemat. Later on he told me it made him laugh to himself and helped him relax for the rest of his shift. Sadly he inherited that same sense of humour from his dad that I did from mine. Cheers from New Brunswick, Canada...eh.

I like the ground perspective and running the rigging should be done more as I feel that there is an art/feel to it..that only many reps and scenarios have been built with the same team and communication and equipment would allow to happen as smoothly....I would imagine much like having Adam run the crane changes the dynamic which is good for team moral and self worth but short term slows the fluidity of the work flow however when every one maxed out skill wise the thought process is almost automatic..everyone anticipates and knows ...Loved the explanation of the "Angle of the Dangle" August

Everything is brand new or a family heirloom. Working for the phone company. Years and years ago would have to do installs or repair to help that department out. Never moved furniture, even for the old ladies. If it broke we/the company would inevitably buy it and the Zody’s or Walmart pressed wood bed or dresser somehow morphed into a two hundred year old family heirloom passed from generation to generation brought over from the homeland and ended up in a rental unit in the ghetto.

Looks like a top handle Stihl, 14-16” bar, quick pickup from idle, burble in midrange but growls at high rpm. Modded 201T? Brief answer appreciated if you have the time…. You and your cast are amazing! You have the consciousness to make a hard job enjoyable for your guys as well as your self, and it shows

Noticing the "upper round eye" on your "Porta-wrap". Do you have that / have you welded that on all of your Porta-wraps? Usually use the 'biner to do the 'keep it upright? Would you want a strap / ratchet to do the holding it upright. (Often I just mount a sailboat winch on a plate - like GRCS, only simpler. Wraps / tightening/running on bigger circumference can be good control...)

Any of the views work. I do like when you have more than one camera glut so you can see the angles from the ground and in the tree. Excellent work in the tree and editing, as always. Have another question about cutting around 17:30 where the two limbs look to me to cut from the top with a single pass and let them swing, but one you face and the other you single cut. I’m curious what the difference was. I’d cut both single pass and I’m making asking to make sure I’m not missing a concern that I’m setting myself up for other issues. Seems faster single pass if you don’t need to provide direction to the piece.
