I always had a black leather jacket in my 20s. It didn't really even occur to me that any other colour was an option. Then one day, about eight years ago, I went into a cool vintage clothing store to see if I could find a black leather jacket as my old one had seen better days. As I was looking through the rack, this dark brown one caught my eye. I tried it on and it was the perfect fit (which NEVER happens), and I bought it instantly and have worn it ever since. It's my favourite item of clothing.

My years of experience with leather in short: 1.browns-shows stains, dirt, professional leather cleaners have limited results. 2. suede-I ended up with small leather fibers all over my shirts and the finish was not as durable. 3.black-hides dirt and stains, durable, more bang for the buck (but browns are prettier). Therefore, I would go with black, maybe a VERY dark brown.

I got my first leather jacket as a gift for my 20th birthday. I still wear it to this day (13 years later). It is in a beautiful dark brown, and many people think it's black from a distance. Since then, I got myself a black and a dark red as well, but the brown is still my favourite. I take good care of it, and thus it has aged very well.

Four Navy G-1 flight jackets: two dark brown from my career as a carrier pilot, one plain and one with patches, one in a dark brown suede calfskin with no fur collar and another in black leather; a gorgeous Italian black leather flight jacket from when I was an airline pilot; three dress leather jackets (a black and a brown that can replace a sports jacket and black Alfani); and two suede bomber jackets in gray and olive. For me personally, brown's the winner. Reason being is that I am relatively pale with dark blonde hair and beard as well as blue eyes. I have found that black gives me a very high contrast to my natural look. It basically makes what's white look even whiter. Whereas a darker brown (especially dark brown i.e. mahagony brown) complements my beard and hair more, making it a more fitting look.

I have several shades of both leather and suede jackets in black, brown, tan, beige and taupe. I find myself favoring the browns more now, because of the variety of shoes I have to match with it vs a pair of black shoes or boots. A black leather jacket is so common and basic, that just about everyone has one and black shoes. Brown stands out with other softer, lighter and darker colors in your wardrobe where you may not want to something as strong as black shoes. Also paired with a nice brown or tan leather laptop bag/briefcase.

Yes dark brown is as dark as I'd go. I don't like black. A really dark brown that could be nearly mistaken for off black is ok to. Brown is more adventurer like, dashing and suave. But I don't like light brown. The brown has to be dark brown

I feel like black leather leather jackets exude more of a mysterious "bad boy" vibe, whilst brown embodies more of a heroic, dependable vibe. Essentially anti-hero versus hero aesthetic. As corny as that may sound lol. In terms of "sexiness" I do think black probably does that the best-- BUT brown I think is a much more handsome and hearty look. Both are incredibly viable, really.

I love it, I look fantastic in it, but it would be nice to mix it up a bit with a brown one if in the mood for more rugged, earthy look instead of slick and sharp. I've got a black leather jacket that I've had for decades. I love it. I bought a brown suede one about a year ago. I find the brown is much harder to work into an outfit. I bought brown suede boots because I felt my black leather shoes clashed. But the shoes are a different shade of brown. Never had this problem with my black jacket. Black for the win

I have one pure leather jacket-Marc of New York- it's a black straight cut jacket, not moto or biker style, love it. You can wear it to almost any non-formal event, it is quilted so not really a warm weather item. I do have two faux leather jackets (Target source) both are a moto style one in each brown & black. I use them as a causal jacket & they get a lot of wear here in Colorado. They fit, I like them & they fit my daily style. Would love to replace them with real leather of similar style but you buy what you can afford.

Not all guys like the pristine 'just like the day you bought it' look. In fact many guys prefer the 'worn in' look, while a few even go for the distressed or beaten up look. This can look more interesting and more individual than the 'creaseless' brand new look. Then there are guys who will ALWAYS prefer to buy a used or second hand jacket, rather than buy a brand new one. This is for the same reason that some guys like worn in leather jackets. It gives a more cool feel and many guys prefer this, as well as the 'individuality' that such jackets project. They make the owner feel like no one else has a jacket like their one.

Since here in Mexico each leather (Actual leather) jacket costs 70 dollars i am able to have a plethora of different leathers and colors. I now have a lamsbkin band collar in light brown / tan, a pebbled cowhide band collar in black, a spread collar bomber in two tones of suede (Chocolate brown and a very light color) and finally a black biker jacket. That is a nice variety of leathers for different situations. I am also thinking to dye the light brown one to a slightly darker shade and make it look like a vintage patina teacore leather jacket. Great video Antonio. I think it depends on the look you are going for. Black is timeless and easier to dress down. I own a brown D&G leather jacket. In my opinion it is harder to dress, but the feedback I've got compared to the black leather jacket I own is that it's more stylish. And I live in a stylish city (Melbourne).

not sure where you lived, but I lived in Malaysia, so we have 24/7 summer. If you just looking for 1 layer with multi-function, then just go get a leather jacket, if you love to layer pieces, then buy different layer clothing. What i would suggest is hot climate session, i tend to wear sneakers more instead of boots except certain occasion, i do love boots, but weather doesn't allow me to do so, hope this helps

When I was young, I wanted everything to be black and red. I wore black faux leather jackets to try to look "badass" even though I was a very innocent-looking type of guy. As I grew up, my tastes changed and I became more open to other colours and shades and I started liking brown and the feelings it gave me. So I bought a dark brown leather jacket and I love wearing it. Now I will shop around for blue and olive jackets (three women told me olive matches my hazel eye colour). I feel like black is overrated and too much of it brings negative energy (there's a reason why bad boys, scoundrels, and gothic/depressed people wear black, not to mention people who are grieving for the death of a loved one). But of course, black is good in moderation.
