From the 6th episode of Gear Talk, I talk about the Wizard NR100 frames and compare them to the K2 r100.

Hey man, cheers for the vids, liking your work!! Couple of questions.... the seba cj, when removing the soul plates, did you have to adjust (shorten) the mounting screws??? I'm struggling on a pair of 3x110, skated loads as a teen, thinking of getting a 4x80 frame like the ground control 80, any experience/advice?? Was looking at the twister edge, but the seba Cj seem to offer a bit more versatility?!?

Ciao, you can easily mount the K2 R100 frames on the 165mm Rollerblade boot ... ??? I saw Lino mounting an adapter that I didn't understand what it is for, translating with Google is not easy to understand well :-)

I messaged the ShopTask guys on their website & asked a few questions about the Wizards skates, 5 days later & no reply. Been looking at the Adept Brand Hyperskate GTO's, they they use a Quattro mount, come with 80mm, 84mm or 90mm set ups with with USF, 165mm &195mm mounting options. Haven't given up on the Wizards yet but there's definitely other good options out there...

Can you also comment what 'natural rocker' is on these and how you feel about it? I've done a bit of everything with skating but only tried full rocker once or twice and did not like it. My flat hockey skates and Salomon Crossmaxs are short and maneuverable enough without rocker, but my 3 x 125s don;t turn as well. I'm there for intrigued by the possibilities with 'NR'.

There's not a lot out there covering Natural Rocker, and I'm no expert. You might learn something from this video though: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqXck5aVj6ZqaMk

Your compass 80 frames also have 4 wheels which is why I wanted yours because they seem lower profile. My only question is can your compass frames perform the same way as wizard?

You have both the wizards and the k2 r100's and mention that a hard boot is better. How much better is a stiffer boot compared to something like the them skates? I'd love to have some bigger wheels but don't want to really invest in a new set of skates.

Thanks for all your great videos. I wanted to ask whether you would go for 125 or 110 wheels on my Urban skates? I watched your recent reviews and it seemed like you preferred the 125s. I was looking to use the big wheels for paved trail long skates. Thanks!
@BacktoBlading
@BacktoBlading 6 жыл бұрын
If you're doing long trails, definitely get the 125. They'll be faster and more shock resistant. 110s will be a lot of fun, but 125s are all I'll skate now. Thanks for watching!

frame length should be a tad bit longer than your foot. 12 inch foot equals 12 inch frame

Not sure I agree. I’m 28.5 cm and the 290 K2 frame felt horrible. A bit shorter might be better
@timtaylor9590
@timtaylor9590 4 жыл бұрын
@@BacktoBlading yes but think about it, that means you have less balance than walking normally and youre on wheels at a higher center of gravity, making it so much harder to balance. maybe a tad shorter would be ok. im a size 8-9 where frames size could be either small or large after getting used to wizard frames small frames seem very unstable now

You are wrong when it comes to cross overs, I've had a set NR100 for 5 months now and yes the cross overs were a little harder at first, first 5 minutes but all you have to do is have a slight more of a bend in the knees and problem gone. No difference to speed skates which have a longer frame I might add. I skate the city streets and they are amazing, as you know they are rockered and so unlike speed skates that don't turn the best or feel like railway tracks these turn on a dime. For fast bombing section or manoeuvring they have it all.
@BacktoBlading
@BacktoBlading 6 жыл бұрын
Not sure that means I'm wrong. Crossovers will absolutely impact your skating, I do them a lot and will have to change my skating to avoid rubbing. This isn't a problem with my Trinity 125mm road frames, cause they're designed to go straight and that's what I do, but Wizards are designed to skate anything you want.

Why is this so expensive?, this is made out of CNC aluminum, no especial carving or design, CNC is not cheap, but c'mon this is just too much for what it is, a piece of carved aluminum

@@BacktoBlading I honest to God think that they simply put the price upper there so it looks fancy and high end stuff, and sell at a super high profit rate, i understand if thats the case.. These are not wheels or something that will degrate with time but still... a just a piece of a aluminum, not even idk a airplane grade one
@19jc80
@19jc80 4 жыл бұрын
You aren't wrong, especially if it's an aluminum extrusion and they are just milling the sides and top. It's not that extensive milling either. If they were milled out of billet then it would add significantly to the price, but there's no reason they should be.
