After releasing this review, we've had many people reach out to us, letting us know that they have never had any stem wobble issues. We think we may have a faulty screw because most users have not experienced any stem wobble after hundreds and thousands of miles on their Mantis. Some users also tell us that applying some blue Loctite will resolve the issue. We want to let you know that we do not consider the scooter is unsafe. We were simply showing you the stem wobble issue is easy to fix by adjusting that screw. Most single stem scooters have some type of stem wobble and need adjusting occasionally like the ZERO 10X, Apollo Pro, and Turbowheel Lightning. We did hear back from the manufacturer about the silicone mat not being completely glued down. They say they do that intentionally in case you ever have to open up the compartment that stores the battery and controller. They glue it up to the edge of the cover and screws, so you don't have to rip the silicone mat if you ever have to access the compartment. You can apply some double-sided tape or use adhesive spray to resolve the issue if it annoys you.

I bought the SE and have zero complaints. Thing is a beast. The off-road tires are an option. You can have Voro Motors put them on or you can put them on yourself. Wide/Extended fenders can be purchased with the larger off-road tires. Never noticed a wobbly stem eventhough I've done and continue to do a ton of off-roading with the SE. Took it for a 20 mile ride in the gold country here in Northern CA and it was just flawless. The "cons" are minor at most.

Hey man can you give an update on the status of the scooter? I just bought one and have some issues like brakes scraping against calipers, i fixed it but not sure for 100% i still hear weird clicking then braking. Also, at speed, tires wobble i dont know what it is, while i ride it i doesn't feel it, but without my weight on, suspended in air, its very noticeable and shake the whole scooter. I really hope its shitty tires and not the off center hub.

Thanks for the shout out! Interesting that your Mantis has the issue with the wiggly stem. Mine is still rock solid. I imagine if you get some blueloctite on that stem screw that it would stop magically screwing itself while you ride 👍

I will add some Loctite and see if that fixes the issue. My other friend did mention the same thing about the stem. Maybe it's an isolated incident and just my bolt.

Thanks for the review! I had a Mantis that I sold after picking up the Dualtron Compact. I enjoyed the Mantis. I agree with all the pluses and minuses you identified. The rubber deck is not great especially once it gets wet. I uses upholstery contact spray on glue to keep it down. I would have eventually added grip tape if I had kept the scooter. The wobble is not great. I minimized it by adjusting that same bolt and using blue loctite to keep it in place. I added the aftermarket rear fender to improve the wet weather protection. I also think there should be a folding handlebar option to further minimize its footprint. My Dualtron handlebar folds and it is much easier to carry in a trunk or deal with on public transportation.

Such a shame these manufacturers can't get the details like proper gluing down of the silicone mat! Fenders that ACTUALLY work, a stem that doesn't need constant tightening or tweaking. I know they are not major things BUT when you shell out your hard earned money you should NOT have to fix stuff on a brand new item! Thanks for the honest reviews. I got a Ninebot Max for my wife because I didn't want to deal with all the little issues the competition seems to have. I know this scooter is not in the same class (that wasn't the point) but when I bought the Ninebot I was confident it would just work proper out of the box (and so far has). I think these PEV manufacturers would do themselves a lot of justice if they would send test units out for feedback AND THEN FIX the issues that are reported BEFORE they release them to the masses.

That's the problem with the scooter EUC and eSkate market. It's so small all of us are basically beta testers, since people still pay up despite these flaws. Besides you can't deny the battery tech inside these machines are remarkable

Thanks for your kind words and comment. I understand where you are coming from. Two of my good friends have mentioned they have never had a stem issue, so I'm not sure if it's our screw. Unfortunately, I have found about 90% of fenders don't do their job. Even on the VSETT 10+, it has a rear fender that doesn't protect from sprays. Where the VSETT 11+ is an excellent tire hugger. For the silicone mat, I think the main reason they dont glue it all down is in case you need to access the battery compartment. It is sealed all the way to the edge of where the screws are at.

Great review. I have 2 mantises and a wolf king My mantis stems are rock solid and have been from day one. Just so everyone knows voro motor is not the only dealer of the gold mantis. E scooter store has a better Cheaper newer version of this scooter I ordered A black one from them but it took a month to get hear from China but it had upgraded tires and fenders the gold One from voro motors didn’t. I love my gold Se mantis but the black one I got is much nicer because of these upgrades. So maybe now voro is getting the newer version in but be aware of this if your looking to buy one the tires and fenders with logo make a huge difference they Make the scooter look way better and it feels much better as far as the contact you feel with the road.

Yeah my favorite feature of the Kaboo Mantis Pro.SE is the torque for climbing steep off road terrain and the full hydraulic disc brakes. Did you point out the full hydraulic disc brakes at $1899 compared to the other brands where it will end up to $2200+ if you add that full hydraulic disc brakes which got me sold on Mantis Pro SE.

I bought a mantis 8 plus from 2021 a few days ago and I have exactly the same problem with the swinging stick. As if the bolt connecting the hinge was slightly too long. Interesting that the seller did a zero check and it was ok, he let me drive. The horn also does not work. Thanks for the video, now at least I know it's not an isolated model.

It is a great scooter and all, also very sleek looking which I like, but for the price it's stated at, I wished it came standard with some headlights damn it, and an electronic horn perhaps?? Judging from the looks and the design, you can easily tell that it's a street racer type scooter and it pretty much covers that spectrum really well

Rather than adjust that bolt to eliminate wobble, I would just buy any small rubber bumper or sticker sided feet from a dollar store and stick that in there to take up that space. It would last longer and dampen some vibration also.

Outside of hills I'll just go 30kph max so the 8 is fast enough, but I want the pneumatic tyres and disc brakes cause I can swap to mountain bike ones which are so much better than what you guys use

I tried to order an ebike after thinking about it over a year and fed ex could not get it delivered to my house. I tried telling them to deliver it after five when i got off work and they wouldn't do it. If you are an ebike company i would think about using a different company to ship your ebikes. They only use a call center in India as there customer service. You can not speak directly to a FedEx representative. They are terrible at getting a package delivered to there customer, beware. Now they are saying the label is scratched and it can not be scanned. i can not even go pick it up. I should of had it almost a week ago. Now it has to go all the way back to the warehouse.

It's hard to tell because two close friends of mine with a 1000 miles on the new stem have said they had never had stem wobble issues. So I'm not sure if I just have a faulty bolt. I am glad they increased the motor size because there were issues of sheared bolts due to bolts coming loose. I do wish Kaabo would use Loctite on their bolts which is annoying. However, most of the scooter companies do not use Loctite.
