Nah it's the reverse; his dad is essentially usurping Prossh's place as a diety. Kobolds in Kher keep think that they get reincarnated into Prossh's eggs; he's trying to beat his dad because he's being a heretic. We're basically looking at a mini civil war.

That last talk about popping off early really made me think about my playgroup. A lot of them (myself included) get the “feel bads” when the big turn 1/2 plays happened because they “didn’t get to play magic”. You guys made me realize that’s not the case at all. Seeing people go off on these crazy turns is why we got into magic, and we lost sight of that when “I didn’t get to go off this game”. Big thanks from a casual player who likes to play to win 🤙🏿

Chronos is also a "titan" of time in mythology, often confused with Cronus, another Titan, and in more modern literature they are often written as the same entity being the most powerful of the Greek Titans with control of time and represented by volcanic events. This could be where you were familiarized with the concept that Chronos was a king, as he was a cruel and powerful leader according to myth.

You beat me to it. It technically doesn't go "infinite", because if you kill 2 players, you'll only get 1 treasure for every ping (1 remaining opponent). BUT, you'd more than likely have enough leftover treasure to continue to activate GHB and kill the final player.

It could be mono white with some adjustments to not break the color pie; 1. You don't control your opponent as that's not what white can do. 2. You can't cast the exile card because that's also not white's capability.

The best thing with the encore commander and gilded Drake interaction is that the token copies are sacrificed at the end step, so your opponents don't even get a 3/3 flier

Archelos, Lagoon Mystic is an amazing Commander. Not only did they print a Sultai stacks Commander but then they gave it 2 ridiculous stacks pieces in Hullbreacher and Opposition Agent. Add in Notion Thief, a couple wheels, some Lab Man effects, and the Oracle combo to round out a deck full of win cons with the ramp to always have answers.

If you attack with Glint Horn Buccaneer with Malcolm in play and the mana to activate you can potentially end the game. Glint Horn's ability will deal one damage to each opponent which creates three treasures. Then you can use the treasure mana to continue the loop. I'm looking into building Malcolm/Vial Smasher around that and the Curiosity effects. It's at a much lower power level but if you can make Mayhem Devil or Reckless Fireweaver a pirate with Runed Stalactite, Amorphous Axe or Captain's Hook they can go infinite with Malcolm too.

Artificial Evolution/ Arcane Adaptation/ Trickery Charm are likely better for making Mayhem Devil and Reckless Fireweaver go infinite then the equipments.

With Kiki Jiki as a commander you can also use all the 3 mono red mutate creatures, make infinite creatures in your opponents endstep to swing your turn

Wheel of Missfortune using some example to explain this card using like 0 and 1 it's so much easier to understand how it works. One player choose 1 (Highest Number) Three players choose 0 (Lowest Number) The player which choose 1 (Not the Lowest Number - 0) takes 1 damage, discard his hand and draw 7 seven cards. 3 Players are not going to discard their hands and take no damage.

The whole section on Jewelled Lotus perfectly represents the difference between a casual players mindset and a competitive player's mindset. And I think the problem many people have with the lotus is that it represents the ongoing trend in the casual side for optimization instead of janky, high cmc spells EDH was known for.

iam really new to commander in general and pretty much started with cedh rightaway... (after stopping magic almost alltogether because of covid, orignally i was an exclusively playing modern guy) so my perspective might be a bit weird or warped. but the way i see it its really a mindset+budget thing going kind of hand in hand which results in high cmc JANKY spells, not only high cmc seeing play in casual edh. theres plenty mega powerful high cmc cards in cedh. but they arent janky. i almost want would like to say its the mindset that "limits" those "more casual edh" players by choosing/wanting to play all those "janky" cards. its like they want to play all those "pet" cards for the sake of not going "competetive". its a daring statement but i feel like if those budget restrictions wouldnt hover over alot of players, they wouldnt be so "casual" in their mindset and deckbuilding decisions. if am pretty sure that if you are really into mtg and you start to understand whats powerful etc, everybody would automatically end up in cedh rather than casual edh. thats why iam always a bit annoyed by this whole "did edh become too fast" talk and such.

Dargo is also potentially his own deck, I made a Dargo-Jeska list which has Phyrexian Altar as a 1-card wincon with Dargo.

Yeah, I think this version is like a different deck overall. It would be more like a Godo deck, but instead of Mana being your point, it is just a specific (or a couple of specific) artifacts.

I think Dargo is awesome. I play Dargo-Jeska and got a turn 4 cEDH commander damage kill. His ability to act stax commander until you go off (because you can sacrifice all your Stax pieces) is really nice and adds a lot of versatility to how you use him in the command zone.

While I think Jeweled Lotus won't see massive play outside of cEDH(mainly due to the prohibitive cost), I can't help but think of the Command Zone video on this and opposition agent... JLK begged them to not print the card.. and speaking as a more casual player(mainly because of the prohibitive cost of cEDH, and also the narrow amount of wincons), that's an important thing to remember with this card

I've seen people running Krark with Sakashima. Being able to both copy your spell and return it to your hand is pretty good, it turns out. With rituals they can pop off very quickly

Earthcraft is a good way to get Archelos tapped, but he is an interesting piece. Root Maze is a hell of a card when it comes down early. All fetch lands enter tapped, then the lands they fetch enter tapped. It is BRUTAL in cEDH for fetches. Very interesting to keep an eye on.

Remember if you use a copy effect with Araumi of the Dead Tide you can use the same target like a Dorkside Extortionist so you would get 3. They just have to attack different opponents.

So if i'm reading it right, combat celebrant also goes infinite with kiki, because attack with celebrant, exert it, untapping all other creatures you control, which includes kiki. Then, before next combat actually begins, you use kiki on conscripts. Just a thought for the off-hand mentioned monored kiki brew

You forgot about an intereaction with Glint Horn Buccaneer with Malcolm in play. Essentially one card combo. Attack with Glint Horn with Malcolm in playé. Activate Glint Horn ability that will deal one damage to each opponent which creates three treasures. Then you can use the treasure mana to continue the loop and almost kill everyone and if not, use your treasure acquired to cast spells that could potentially finish the game. Works great in some kind of "grixis pirate" shell probably with Vial Smasher as a partner and maybe some curiosity effect. Video was great and I know how hard it is to evaluate cards without having played with them .

on the hullbreacher vs smothering tithe comparison , keep in mind that smothering tithe is an enchantment and that removal is somewhat more difficult . specially in Cedh . hullbreacher is best but also easier to dispatch

Not sure if it’s worth noting for cEDH, but the new Hellkite Courser also combos with Kiki Jiki as you commander, assuming you have a sac-outlet. With something like goblin bombardment, this is a 8 mana combo as opposed to 10 mana combo with the other options.

I believe the blue black commander can only encore stuff in your graveyard however I was thinking it would allow you to cast your consult first which will likely not get countered and then cast Oracle and if it gets countered encore it as an activated ability which is hard to interact with

I have attempted to cast Discontinuity for 2 mana in arena to get around sacrificing Underworld Breach and it remained but it was then sacrificed on my opponents following end step. I think Obeka + Breach may function that way with how Breach refers to "The end step" not "next end step"

Malcom and Breeches were made for each other, they're both members of Vraska's crew and were always working together! And for Archelos, it is important to note he delays treasures! You have to tap sac them to use them, so Archelos will stop the instant power of treasure generators.

With opposition agent will happen often, once he hits the battlefield: -You steal a deflecting swat ( Because that prevent all removals and also you gain an extra swing, play around abrupt decay ) so they can't kill it without two answers (without counting ur own hand) -You get another opposition Agent -If it hits intuition... go next. ( Imagine ancestral recall but instead of drawing 3, tutoring 3 )

I don't know if this has been said already, but you can't force people to end their turn with Obeka. It says that they 'may' end their turn. It can still do some broken things with 'in your next end step you lose the game' effects which can be negated if I understand correctly.

Regarding the Jeweled Lotus: Using a lotus to power out something like a Teneb the Harvester is absolutely a casual play :D However even though the card isn't that great it's still pretty backbreaking in casual tbh

About 25:00 Chronos is a greek word and means something like time. So Cam is half-right. Also it's the name of one of the titan gods. Kronos (written in this case like that) is the father of Zeus e.g.

The really funny thing about people saying Hullbreacher and Opposition Agent can be played around is that those are the 2 best things to do in EDH, and more so in cEDH. Both are just nightmare-level stax pieces, and Opposition Agent can mean an earlier combo if they share a combo with the player (Oracle/Consultation comes to mind...), or perhaps an extra counter to guarantee a successful combo of their own. People are going to need to run more removal for these cards specifically.

What about Krark in a Kalamax deck? You still get the copy Kalamax made and can recast your spell later or you get the spell 3 times and Kalamax grows.

Obeka can also end an end of turn cyclonic rift and stop an opposition agent against you.

Played a cEDH game against Krark the Thumbless and Silas Ren as partners. He got Krark out, then ran out a Possibility Storm or Knowledge Pool to lock out everyone except himself. Either result of the coin flip, he got a free spell plus either the copy of his original or the original back to hand to go again. Copying rituals all over the place, getting free spells off of Possibility Storm, that thing was suuuuuuper busted.
