What's The Best Ceramic Detailer? | 2 Weeks Later | Adams v Chemical Guys v NV v P&S v Platinum P

Hey guys back again with a new comparison series.
this time we'll be comparing 5 different quick detailers that are suggested as toppers for ceramic coatings.
in this series we have a panel that is split in half with the top section being coated with Gyeon Pure Evo and bottom half just being bare polished paint
so the aim is to test each product both on the coated section and the uncoated section to see if any of the products mask the superior water behaviour of the ceramic coating, but also to see if as they wear away they cause any issues.
to do this we leave one section of coating untouched and one section of the bare paint untouched as the control sections allowing us to monitor the rest and compare results.

I think the hydrophobicity is more important to having the water run off to be honest but yes still surprising

Great stuff. I like this series because it's over fast and the market is saturated with options. Testing to see what may be worth a try is really helpful. Next set I hope you include the winner platinum potions to help cross test comparisons. Then as I mentioned previously sonax and mirch! Maybe og drying aid? It's well regarded in America and can be gotten quickly in Aus. Expensive here like sonax though.

Could you try the other platinum potions ceramic detailer they have? It’s a green liquid rather than blue, I bought this not knowing what it was, it’s hydrophilic rather than hydrophobic, so supposed to sheet more rather than bead like the blue one. I thought this was would be better due to pretty much removing all water that touches the surface?

I do have some here and from what I've seen the green ones are just a regular detailer or car wash without Si02 where as the blue will have Si02. I use the green one to detail my engine bay occasionally but haven't tested its water behaviour as I was told it's not meant for beading

I put Ethos Finish shine ceramic detailer on my sister car on Oct 10th. today a little over 2 months in, its still hanging on. It rained and I still see about 35% protection left

I haven't used dream maker personally and probably wouldn't after the way I've had bead maker perform but I have heard the dusting comments too

I used NV Boost to dry my father's white rogue a week or so ago after he washed the car very poorly, it had zero protection. The finish is great. Even my negative father can see a difference in gloss. I ruin 2 of my TRC 365 rags with the dirt that was still left haha!

Might be a silly question, but can't bowden's own bead machine, or Mirch bead king be used as a topper for ceramic coatings as well. But would last longer than these detailers?

It's possible that they could or could also gunk up the coating so will be worth doing some testing

i bought beadmaker before looking into reviews, its lasted a month so far on uncoated paint and beading pretty nice, slick and shiny. Was applied with 2 microfibres after drying the car. Has rained a couple times and still holding on. Does the job but curious to see if there’s better for the price.

There's so many better products with better performance but I'm all for people using what they like so if you get the results you're after then I say keep using it

Try turtle wax seal and shine when you get a chance, it’s so cheap and I put 2 layers on my work van and it’s lasted months and months, probably almost a year.

You have to try out the chemical guys hydro charge + ceramic spray coating. Blue stuff.

Beadmaker has great slickness and gloss, it’s not for longevity. It’s a great drying aid.

Actually I’ll get back to you on beadmaker affecting the hydrophobics, I’ve applied a little bit as a drying aid on top of gyeon mohs evo.

I did use it in my first videos as a base protection product and had terrible durability where people told me it should just be used as a topper so that's why I used it here. I had the same results in this test that I'd had off camera on my own car with carpro cquartz UK as the coating I used it on top of

Pretty sure youve either gotten this comment a million times, or youve already covered a specific product and i simply havnt found it in your channel yet, but, was wondering if you could add Technicians Choice TEC582 Ceramic Detail Spray to your experiments rotation? So far my experience with it has been fairly decent. Makes my vehicle washes run much smoother it seems.

It's a possibility but it's not really the sort of product I will use often as there's better stuff on my shelves. I may try to buy the actual chemical guys product I meant to buy last time though

I didn't use either in this test, I used NV boost v2 which is their quick detailer. I have used jet in a series previously though but as a base layer sealant

beadmaker is trash and clogs ceramic coatings . NV boost is amazing because it actually rejuvenates ceramic coatings and doesnt just add another layer over the top of your coating like most do. So it doesnt change the behavior of your regular ceramic coating like other ceramic detailers do where youre just seeing that layer of coating instead of your actual coating.boost v2 does add an extra layer though. If you want to keep a ceramic coating looking and performing like day one get nv boost and use it every 3-4 washes. Thank me later.

@@EvolvedDetails it’s crazy so many people recommend bead maker. The other good thing is the regular nv boost is only 16$USD so it’s a lot cheaper than the v2 and others. I would choose boost over v2 any day of the week unless the customer didn’t have an actual coating. They make great products. I actually don’t know another product like the normal boost.
