I finally ordered the 800130 from Summit Racing tonight. I just pray the thing transforms my 67 Camaro the way you talk about your 68. I live in a winding hilly part of Texas & it makes my Camaro feel dangerous to drive at times.

@@steelcantuna it’s a fantastic upgrade! I just ordered another 800130 for a 68 impala im doing this week with the same complaints. I did a set of upper control arms with built in caster that really helped steering stability too might wanna check it out as well.

First, congrats on success after research decision. I am about to purchase box to replace the 298k '91 convertible 305 RS box as I build a 383 and changed to C5 wheels (245/45/17 frt). Also going brand new but cannot find any reviews on the Classic Ind. OER 2.5r $250, or Edelmann at Rockauto $373. Anything beats current sloppy Jalopy but wish there was more review info!

Great video. I have a 1969 Camaro and I would like to upgrade my steering gear box as well, but I want to stay with the OEM pump since I had it rebuilt. Any way the Borgeson will work with my OEM pump?

@@mikesilva1881 original pumps are set to run lower pressure, 800 if I remember correctly. The new box wants higher, around 11-1200 I think. I would call and ask their tech support maybe they could offer a way to up the stock pump pressure? Might work fine too I’m not sure I wanted all new components so I decided on their matching pump.

Is the pump critical to the installation? Does the Borgeson 800310 pump have a higher PSI rating?

@@blackwinggarage in my application yes it is necessary. Older pumps run lower pressure than new style pumps. If you’re putting this in an old style small or big block do the pump as well, if it’s going into something LS swapped the stock modern pumps should be just fine. (Like a truck 5.3 pump) I want to say the borgeson pump runs around 1250psi and the box range was 1100-1300 if I remember correctly. The old Saginaw box was like 750-850 I think

I desperately want a rack set up for my 91 RS. I hate the way it handles compared to 97 RS and 99 Firehawk. I bought a quick steer $700 box from Orileys and it’s sloppy.
