I'm wanting to boost my car. It's a 4.6 2v no it's not a mustang. It's a town car. I used to have a 2006 gto 6speed. And that was fun to drive. I wanna kinda have something like that feeling of power. But I'm not sure what set up to use. I know procharger has alot of hp on top. But I'm not sure if it will be enough to throw be back in my seat or not?

7.3L godzilla Really been leaning towards whipple 3.0L twin screw, but it's still not released for the super duty trucks. I tow, I play around every now and then it's really nice to see a n/a engine pace and out pace diesel trucks it wouldn't take much to push this motor into 4 second 0-60. All said I have been considering turbo charging the thing but was more looking for a bolt on kit.

Only thing I'd add for an intro video like this is that screws and centrifugals actually compress air inside themselves vs how the roots is only moving air. You did touch on the last part though.

Im hoping you gents will see this message. I'm new and just getting into building my (new to me) 2014 Mustang V6. I'd like to turbo it but after seeing this video I think I'd want to go the centrifugal supercharger route due to cost, time, and overall driveability. I don't have anything invested in modifications yet, so i'm wanting to ask before I jump the gun. My car is an automatic with the stick mode as an option and I'm unsure about switching to different gas (not against it), but i'm wondering if i should go Procharger or Whipple as it is going to be my daily driver. I'd like to be able to cruise around normal but be able to take off as soon as I romp on the gas pedal and still have more power spooling up in the higher RPM's rather than topping out at higher RPM's. Should I go centrifugal or twin screw? Or could I do some modifications to get more torque and horsepower in the lower RPM's while still being able to utilize a centrifugal supercharger to get even more horsepower and torque in the higher RPM's? Sorry if i'm overcomplicating the topic and thank you in advance for any help and advice you could give me. 😊

Great content first of all ... but I'm personally disappointed somewhat with my results I did a centrifugal supercharger. I have a truck and centrifugal supercharger are linear in power and works with the rpm of that motor, furthermore it prevents you from putting that power down early. So the remedy to that is high stall converter on a 2 step. But keep up the great videos maybe do a series and go indepth on all boost with some dyno graphs to backup the statements

It’s called hybrid or compound turbo or supercharging but when you reach the point where you are forcing more air in the given charging component it then becomes pointless to have such device and it is removed to blo through chilled exhaust gasses at max rpm

yeah no one has really figured out how to make an efficient twin charge system yet. The idea is the super charger winding up to spool the turbo. In theory it should work however i drove 2 cars a ws6 that was twin charged and a 1993 silvia sr20 swap. ANd for some reason the air cuts off on the higher rpm of the super charger and where the turbo spools it just doesnt spool any more efficiantly. Especially now days with 2 step, launch control, dual and tripple ball bearing turbos, rolling anti lag, and nitrous to spool turbos. and super chargers have gotten lighter and faster. The only possible configuration i havent seen anyone try is is a twin screw with remote twin turbos. But still i think that the two systems by themselves are just so efficient now days theres almost no point. But hey maybe your the person to prove us all wrong if you have the money and time do the R and D.

Long time ago (1980's), I had a shop where we built racing engines for local applications...1/8th and 1/4 quarter mile mostly (little dirt-track use, too)...but that we didn't have any demands for 'blown' motors...I never did have the chance to ask, or learn about forced induction...but for the past year (in my 'old, retirement days'), I've considered building a 'kit car'...2,200-lbs, give-or-take. Small block, aluminum heads...naturally aspirated, making around 400-hp. Now, for an application like SCCA, where you are running laps (10-20 minutes, most-often), you are constantly in desired power-bands of 3,500-7,000 rpm, give-or-take...but if you are talking 'forced induction', you are now considering putting 50% or more 'work load demand' on that device...or, in other words, it's operating to generate boost half-the-time. Now, I know this makes a LOT of heat under-hood...and heat is no one's friend. If I were going to put a forced-induction system on a smaller small block (302, 305, 340...), what would be the 'best' system to consider...where 20-minutes of 'high demand' won't lead to premature bearing failure, under-hood heat issues, etc.? You almost never hear anyone discuss the 'sustained heat' from 'longer-term demand'...would a turbo be 'cooler' (like F1 cars), or a roots blower (I don't really see that...as they generate a LOT of heat), or a twin-screw blower, or even a belt-drive (Pro-Charger) type? Picture an AC Cobra...and you're trying to target 650-700 maximum horsepower...but you also need to maintain such demand at 6,000-rpm for periods, with minimal 'balanced cool-down' time, while no losing a lot of power generation potential from heat...

Downside with turbos is that they are only good like for 100k miles, then u need to replace them. Superchargers will outlive the life of the engine

Damn .....this comment section....wow. Lots of dumbass questions on here. "Can I compound boost my 5.7 liter FCA shitbox ? I want to make 1200hp on pump gas" No Richard you cannot your internals were crafted by keebler elves and your chassis is from a early 90s Mercedes.
