The Global 64 by Tarmac should go with the price of a MiniGT too, right now they are too expensive for me. A MiniGT is around 12€ the Tarmac Global 64 is 20€ here in Europe.
@changminsdoll023 жыл бұрын
right, and mini gt has cheaper models that are more detailed than the more expensive global64 cars
@StingerDiecast3 жыл бұрын
Hmm, that's really unfortunate. They're definitely not worth that much. In the US they're much closer in price which makes them a more reasonable value to get some different castings but if they were to go head to head on the same car I'm pretty sure Mini GT would win every time.

@@markzebr6463 i have some and they have some quality issues too, not acceptable at a Higher price point. And at the Lancia 037 they used waterslide stickers all over the Modell, that isnt worth the money. Same at the Jägermeister BMW 2002 collab with Schuco. Double the price of a Schuco for using waterslide stickers. You can do your own stickers with a PC very easy.

I just started collecting 1/64 scale diecast cars 2 months ago. Mainly hot wheels redline club. I wanted a Volkswagen diecast and I found Tarmac Works mk1 GTi. When I got it I was hook on more premium diecast. So I tried a resin model from Fuelme. And I am 100% hook now. I'm currently selling all my hot wheels redline club cars lol. I found you channel from just browsing. Love your layout and how you talk clearly and have information on the brands and upcoming models. Keep up the awesome work. Plus you buy so many models lol. Interesting video that's what first got me started with tarmac works was the Zonda R now I Got 5 or 6 interesting pieces find myself wanting to buy more definitely a brand to keep your eye on 👍👍

Yeah that Zonda really put them on the map for a lot of people. Lot's of Pagani's are coming from both Mini GT and Tarmac now which is cool. Hopefully they avoid going head to head on the same model.
@wholelotazepp3 жыл бұрын
I had to get 2 of each to get a better idea of what was going between the levels of “premium”. It can get somewhat confusing and perhaps overwhelming to a new(er) collector. I like the Zonda, but the Pink Mustang was my first experience with Tarmac Hobby64 and the Tarmac brand in general. Very impressed with the detail in these brands , but moving up to the Global64 really gives you a reason to know where that extra bit of coin went (not just a pretty base for something to give it the elusion of being more expensive than it should be). Great review and explanation of the model tiers , Karl.
@StingerDiecast3 жыл бұрын
Yeah Global64 is a pretty great series I just wish they were more consistent with the Hobby64 releases. Some have been fantastic but then there are some that just aren't up to the same standard which is always disappointing.
@markzebr64632 жыл бұрын
agreed, the details of the Hobby 64 are incredible. Antennas, tow hooks, interior and exterior detail are a notch up. The race cars elevate them to a new level. Throw in creative packaging: crates and oil cans. Yes, they dont roll and arent supposed to as they are display models, preferably not to be removed from their base. I NEVER remove my 1/43 cars from their base.
@ThanhLai52 жыл бұрын
I only collect cars that can roll. Maybe because they give me another connection to my love of real life cars? Anyway, thanks for clarifying the rolling function on GLOBAL64 and HOBBY64 from Tarmac Works. The brand is growing on me recently.

I prefer Mini GT over Global 64. Mainly because the spoilers are in plastic (at least on the global 64 I own) while Mini GT uses solid metal spoilers. Also, I have the impression that some parts are not well assembled - my zonda's spoiler is not aligned by several degrees and I noticed a similar trend on few video reviews. Also, I am finding most Global cars around 16/19$ while I usually get mini Gt for 11-14$. I would like to know if anyone has a say regarding decals. My impression is that most Mini GTs use paint jobs over decals but I am seeing some decals on the Global 64. Am I correct on this one?

Hot wheels style wheels won't be found on any brand that attempts for accuracy as the through hole design inevitably compromises the look. Brands like Mini GT and Tarmac Works Global64 attempt to find a balance between rolling and the accuracy of higher end brands but they definitely won't roll as well as a hot wheels.

Tarmac Works is my 2nd brand after MINI GT. I actually like their Global64 line more than the Hobby64, simply because wheels roll and the base is die-cast. I prefer the castings of MINI GT, although I wouldn't say they compete but actually complement each other, for example, MINI GT has the Pagani Zonda F and Huayra Roadster, TW has the Pagani Zonda R, Revolucion, Cinque and the Huayra BC (and in the near future the Huayra R); if you want the complete collection you'd need both brands to achieve it.

So you prefer models that roll. Do you have a preference on the base of it’s plastic or metal? I always feel like I am getting a lesser model when a premium brand gives me a plastic base and the weight isn’t there. I don’t care about the detail on the base but I like some weight to my model.
