Gj young Nelson on not getting tactically blown out of the water, which is honestly way better than a < 1000 would normally do. The main difference being understanding middle and end game plans as well as reasons behind development decisions.

I’m 900 rated and I feel like it’s a lot different knowing there’s a lot of different players. Players that know theory Players that are creative Players that ARE New to the game Players that like only one or two openings for W/B Players that cheat Players that sacrifice in both directions: right/wrong Players (like you here in this game) who play defensive Plays who play aggressive/offensive Players who play So you really don’t know what to do when faced with all of them. Now, on the contrary, I do find myself playing the pirc Australian dragon/Australian Attack quite well, same with Italian, Caro-Kahn, Slav defense, and Tarracsh defense.
@kimbirch1202
@kimbirch1202 Жыл бұрын
In my experience some players have more aptitude for the game, and improve quickly. They soon dispense with theory, and become more creative, even inventing openings. They don't need engines to tell them how to play, but enjoy solving puzzles on their own. They are always aware of the whole board, and see patterns developing., and know what their opponent is trying to do. They are thus able to see several moves ahead, and calculate better.

11:18 by trading the rooks you remove the defender of white's A pawn, hence the queen can escape there and you get a pawn. Idk if it's a good idea but it might have been your thought process when you were young, but white removed the option by capturing with queen

@christopherheckman7957
@christopherheckman7957 Жыл бұрын
If you intentionally touch one of your pieces, and it is legal to move it, you must move it. If you intentionally touch one of your opponent's pieces, and it is legal to capture it, you must capture it. One TD's advice was for you to sit on your hands until you were sure that you wanted to make a particular move.

I've been stuck between 900-1200 in blitz for months and only about 1 in 6 players would waste time playing that horrible move in the thumbnail. Most of the time a single blunder determines the game and far too often it comes down to a less than 1 pawn advantage combined with one inaccuracy that someone takes advantage of. People say don't play blitz because it will make you worse: I never have any trouble keeping an at least consistent elo in rapid.

@emmanuellaurens2132
@emmanuellaurens2132 Жыл бұрын
Personally I'd respond with Qd3, forcing a queen trade (the knight on c4 is hanging if the white queen retreats). Qxd3, Rxd3, white can still take the bishop on b6 and mess black's pawn structure afterwards but without queens that is far less of a problem and that rook on d3 is going to be a problem for black. Just for starters, the pawn on c3 is hanging, and if it moves the pawn on b4 will be hanging...

He explains why he didn't finish the game: He stopped notating the game at that point. Maybe it was time pressure, or maybe when he missed a move (and wrote down a5 twice) and got discouraged. Usually, when this happens, one player (who is not facing time trouble) will notate the game, and the remaining moves will be copied over after the game is done.
