I’m glad to see this series return. I really like this instructive style of video. Seeing you play an opponent in a longer time control. Really lets the audience take in why a certain move is good, bad. The ins and outs of the position.

Yeah, I think this goes back to Nelson’s point, that often times forcing 1,800s to play outside their regular opening could lead to them making mistakes. Blunderman even kinda confirms this because he had a clear plan, but then was stressed about being out of his theory early on after Nelson played moves he wasn’t expecting.
@user-fp8vl3mb2i
@user-fp8vl3mb2i 2 ай бұрын
@@vPegasus no his reasoning was not good regardless of being comfortable or not , and out of theory is not really an execuse , because most 1800 or 1900 don't even know what the word means , i don't want to sound rude but he didn't play well in that game

@44:00 I would love to see what would happen if he took took the bishop with his own bishop, leaving his rook to be captured but if you take it you lose the knight behind the bishop and trading down to rook-knight vs either knight-bishop or knight-knight. White would be down 2 pawns as well, but would have a more active king. Could still put up a good fight.

Opponent definitely doesn’t ”belong” to the 1900 zone. I don’t see him even as a strong 1800. Basic tactics missed and wasn’t able to realize he had an advantage in game 2 to capitalice. He did even had plenty of time to think all of the options. Nelson loses to 2000s in his livestreams and this guy is almost a 1900.
