Thank you for making the difference between US and UK stitches easier to understand.

This is really helpful, thank you! 🤗 I'm English too but the majority of tutorials I've seen have been from US creators, so those terminologies come more naturally to me at the moment, but I'm still learning. Does this mean I'm bilingual in crochet?! 🤔😆

I was taught American crochet decades ago but didn't know until someone contradicted me about my double crochet stitch. They said it was a treble so home I came and did a bit of research and that's when I found out that UK and US crochet is different. In some ways this has made my life easier (no more incorrect sizing) but I prefer US as in my head, logically, it's relatable to the stitch height. Your video is a really great tool for me when I'm teaching someone to crochet. Thank you

Reminds me of how in the US the first floor is the ground floor and in the UK the first floor is the first floor above the ground floor (second floor in the US), quite confusing when you first encounter it!

Im still confused with hdt compared to ordinary treble. A treble in US term means u wrap the material around the hook twice and a half double u pick up whatever u r using and draw through 1 loop then repeat with the loop. Thats what i know!

Many US and Canadian patterns identify the hook size using both the letter size (and the mm size). Eg. hook size F (3.75 mm).

Hi thank you for explaining the differences clearly. Could you explain how to find out the types of yarn used such as weight 4 or 3? I don't see this on my yarn....is it a US term? TIA

I purchased an 1845 publication by Cornelia Mee, Who wrote this book "Crochet." I was trying to crochet a doily and did not understand the UK terminology. One sentence said, "Work into every stitch the stitch used in Open crochet." What is open crochet? Thank you for this video, as it was very helpful.
