It’s a Commission, not a Department. The head of a department (at the cabinet level) requires Senate confirmation. The head of a commission does not. The correct term should be the Commission of Government Efficiency. COGE not DOGE.

I can't take DOGE very seriously, based on historic fact. I do believe that they want to fix things, I just don't think they can fix things. We've done this many times and failed. Sure, some minuscule success has been made, and within a period of a few years, it's not only undone, its even worse than before. I remember when Newt Gingrich held a hammer over Bill Clinton's head on the deficit, and so much progress was made that we actually got rid of the debt clock. And here we are.

I have a suggestion for DOGE, it's minor but it's wasteful spending. When our legislatures are on the floor, stop using large posters for the demonstration, use PowerPoint on a large screen. Once those posters are used, thats it, then it gets thrown away, spending to have these posters made is wasteful. We live in a digital world.
