It seems to me the CAVS don't want to do anything major until they see what Atkins can do with this talent pool but I don't think you can have 3 max players. There is only one basketball. It is unlikely to work unless you have Top 15 players. Most likely is that one of the three gets traded before the beginning of the following season. Okoro most likely will sign a one year contract with the CAVS and unless he blossoms, he will be gone the following year. There is just not enough cap space to keep him unless he improves on offense.

What is the goal of management? To be competitive or win a championship. Vegas has us with the same win total as last season. I agree with them.

They could always trade Okoro during the season. He is a very hard worker, has improved, albeit slowly, from one season to the next. Perhaps this is the year he puts it all together. If they sign him, they can find out what they have. If it's a new and improved Okoro, maybe he becomes that fifth starter, even though he's a smaller wing. There are, after all, a lot of guys playing small forward in the NBA who are 6'6" or under. Maybe he fits as a somewhat undersized but otherwise complete player. OTOH, if he's the same as the last three years, there will still be teams who can use him. Maybe he returns a back up center, or an off the bench stretch four, or even someone like Dorian Finney-Smith. In any case, we do seem to have a plethora of shooting guards (Merrill, LaVert, Spyder, Okoro, Tyson, Struss, and Bates). And they should be getting Jerome back from IR as well. Maybe Niang is the only true small forward of the bunch. So unless one of those smaller guards can play bigger this year, it might make sense to eventually trade Okoro and maybe LaVert or Struss as well, to get a bigger wing and somewhat rebalance the roster.

Donovan Mitchell has the keys and he told the Cavs he wanted Jared Allen to stay.... He would sign an extension. I highly doubt the Cavs will go against his wishes from negotiating his contract extension. Besides why would we want to get rid of the second best player on our team??

Thank you Cavs front office for not listening to idiot podcasters wanting to trade Jarrett Allen, the 2nd best Cav. That move would be as smart as old Bulls trading Pippen🤪
@Kitk20223 ай бұрын
Do you watch basketball? Comparing a Jarret Allen trade to Scottie Pippen is crazy. Nowhere near the same value. We would be ok and adjust to trading Allen for a better wing which is a need we have. Cavs front office need to learn how to be creative. Niang brings nothing to our team Jerome stays injured. Caris has a very tradable contract. If we want to get better be smart not scared

The team is getting very expensive. Have a few years to make deep playoff runs, or changes will have to be made.

Pete Nance should not be offered a two way, there are better options than him, he was dreadful in summer. They should be signing 3 new two way players. Bates will always be a chucker.

Keep LaVert. I recall him playing pretty good against Cavs when a Pacer. Trading Carris is classic bite in ass move.

I think Tyson could take that role by the trade deadline, his SL and Cal showed a high end PnR operator and bully ball driver with high efficiency at high usage Some SL stats: * 2% off from Zach Eddey's efficiency, third best ef% in entire class * top 3 for guard/forwards in offensive boards (2.2) and defensive boards (4.8) per game * was 1 of only 3 guards to shoot +40% from 3 * 4th in total assists * 4th in total steals * court-burn effort not seen since '14 SL and Delly
