I upgraded to the A7CII from the FujiXT3. I was tired of missing focus when taking pictures of my young kids. With the Sony I never miss. I really enjoy the switch, the battery lasts a lot longer than the XT3 battery, focus is amazing and its a bit smaller with full frame as a major bonus. My only issue is with the menu, its taking me some time to get used to it. I just got an X100VI and not sure if I will keep it, its smaller than the A7Cii but not by much.

I agree with several of your point. I actually ended up selling my X-T5 and only really miss the Fuji film simulations. Aside from that I like the Sony A7cII especially with the silver top and silver small rig base plate. I use mine with the Sony small primes, Sony 24mm F2.8, 35mm F1.8 and 55mm F1.8. Those lenses are small enough and give you a really nice look. The A7Cii with those lenses is a lot smaller than the X-T5 with the F1.4 lenses. The other benefits for me is that I also have a Sony A7RV so the negatives don't really affect me considering I'd use that for real important photo projects.

I used to own a Fuji X-T4 and was considering upgrading to the newer model. But, for me, the X-T5 and the X-H2 should have been one and only camera. Imagine the X-H2 with retro dials. Wouldn't it be awesome! So, as a 70 year old guy with failing eyesight and shaky hands, I decided to give Sony a try. I bought the A7RV and then the A7CII (the blacker the better) and a few lenses. Needless to say, my budget hasn't recovered yet. But let me tell you, Sony's AF makes shooting so much fun and the image quality is amazing. The only thing missing to my total happiness would be if Sony made a good quality full frame autofocus pancake lens. I would stop desiring a Fuji X100VI. In the meantime, the A7CII paired with both Sony's 40 and 24 G lenses, does the job pretty well. These 2 lenses are compact and make the A7CII a great option for street and travel photography. All of this could change if and when Sony releases a new RX1RIII.

I am just afraid that Sony colors and really bad lcd / evf will ruin experience for me. Then I started to realize how much I missed the Sigma ART lenses. Yes theyre heavy as a brick but OMG the color and imagery is stunning on the Sony. I cannot believe I left Fujifilm completely after having so many Fujifilm cameras but they really are dropping the ball in not implementing AI and better AF in their cameras. Fuji's decision to ignore the xpro users, leaving me with the feeling that there will be no xpro4 is very disappointing. For the first time in years, I have started shopping for a different brand of camera. A big part of my decision is compactness, I don't like being weighed down with gear. This probably stems from being around Leica M shooters in my early years. True, the lenses can get big with most full frame setups but there plenty of reasonably sized options for Sony. The only thing that's kept me from pulling the trigger is that my past experience with Sony left me cold, a great camera but not an inspiring one. After watching this maybe it's time to rent one for a test drive.

I few things...the lack of a joystick is actually a blessing (only old school shooters with poor AF need it). If you map the AF-on or AEL button to "subject tracking" it will grab the subject and you can focus & recompose never needing to use the cumbersome joystick to move the focus point around (btw, I rarely use it in my A7RV and find no need for it in the A7Cii). The EVF & One Card Slot is just a compromise in design. Agree, I wish the max shutter speed with 8000. IMO, the video and color science (esp skin tones) are even better than the A7iV. The "AI" processor allows for a better subject tracking (even in video) and improved AWB (which has improved colors & skin tones). Personally, I use this camera for travel/street/backup (I use the Sony or Sigma compact lens; not GM). All that said, all companies have offerings for everyone. I like Fuji too - especially the XS-20 & X100vi - and wish I had the funds to own them all.

The often used f/2.8 zooms and fast aperture primes are pretty large. But Sony has a trio of small primes (24mm f/2.8, 40mm f/2.5, 50mm f/2.5) and Sigma offers several primes in their contemporary line up that are relative small. Sony also has a very small 28-70 (slow/variable aperture) lens, a 20-70 f/4, they recently released an f/2.8 24-50mm lens. There are several 3rd party lenses that are relative small and light. If you want an 85mm f/1.4 to completely obliterate the backgrounds, the lenses are going to be fairly large. But if you're comfortable with using slower aperture lenses there are quite a few options. I'm coming from the m43 world and have primarily used a GX9 since it was released. It's getting long in the tooth and I've been looking at alternatives. If you want IBIS (I need it) I don't really see the Fujifilm system as offering much advantage with respect to smaller size.

@@bradleyanderson247 Yeah but the lower apertures of the small primes means no advantage over higher apertures of fuji´s primes. So if you want the advantages of full frame (beside the better AF) you need to have bigger lenses otherwise the results are pretty similar. Full frame So of course need for wider lenses But check out Samyang 24mm 35 45 and 75mm. All f1.2 Good and not expensive And very small Fuji 56mm f1.2. Is large and heavy and expensive And really a 84mm f1.8 For many Fuji fans there will never be any camera as good Fuji Fuji buys sensors from Sony Again compare xpro. 3. With the a7 c2 Compare the xt5 with a74

Sony produce better cameras and hideous, almost unfixable colors. I was tempted with the specs and size but no thanks. Contaminated colors, too green, too yellow or too orange skin colors, not enough color tones, hue or shades, and never as pleasant as Fuji, Canon or Nikon. Colors may be subjective but no amount of tweaking, Luts or whatever can “really” fix it . Mine is just an opinion as any other, only backed with 30 years graphic design experience. So colors been good enough is not enough for me.
