On the question of which quality makes a champion I must say a fact that impresses me is the experience of Oscar and Franco of being so driven and inspired to have left home and travelled halfway, or more, around the world at 14 YEARS OF AGE ON THEIR OWN to follow their talents and focus to be F1 Racers. Not many 14 year old lads of that ilk.

I am not a fan of Lewis, but I am excited to see him in Ferrari. But I can't deny that Max and the whole 2021 fiasco has been a crushing blow for him
@fintonmainz78458 күн бұрын
The last couple of laps in One race were a "crushing blow"? Please. He lost that race/championship because of a bad refereeing decision. There are a million and one other things which could have caused him to lose that race.

@fintonmainz7845 dude why you being so defensive about him. I am open to see him revive himself, but Lewis has not been himself since 2021 and that's a fact. I was not talking about just losing the last race. The whole 2021 season has been a fierce battle between them

Great interview, started following Martin after he was on with Cameron. Really appreciate his analysis, he’s now one of my favorite KZbin channels. Martin, keep pushing for that dream, you DO bring a lot of value. I assert there aren’t many engineers who also can balance driver mindset, locate their mental weaknesses, and train them to move beyond that. Hope to see you with an F1 team soon…just not Red Bull 😉

@lowerlaptime: missed chance to underline why Max has been dominating (ok, maybe that's according to me). He has been maximizing the tyres very well, he has been using his racing IQ, he has been using his short corner Technique, he has been using the feel for the car, he has been working his butt off and he has headspace to react effectively (with some help of the race Engineer and strategists) to whatever is thrown at him (more than anyone else).

34:05 this is literally only British fans of Norris/teamLH. Max consistently gets penalized harsher than Lewis, George or Lando. Same goes Alonso and Sainz btw.

You can't fake that mindset. Jos was really close to Michael Schumacher, and they exchanged ideas about training their karting genius kids. I imagine Jos (sub)consciously modeled it on MSC.

There is not much wrong with Sir Lewis at all just that Mercedes had chosen to go away from designing a car that suits his driving style. We can all see the results over the last 3 years

If his car is as dominant as the Mercedes was, he probably can. But then there is the problem that there is the much younger and hungrier Charles sitting next to him. And unless Lewis has forced it into his contract that he will be the first driver of the team anyway, in order to score that eighth world title that he so coveted.

Lewis was the best driver of his generation. He's older now. Still a wise silver fox but nobody beats the ageing process.

I’m not convinced it’s entirely fair to say giving more space to Verstappen is a mentality issue. In Norris’ case, a crash between him and Max would suit Max just fine from a championship perspective, so if Lando stands his ground and they crash, Max is still the net winner. In Lewis’ case, that quote of his you mentioned about Max was during his championship years, where he had much more to lose than Max. So that’s surely an edge that Max has just outright, regardless of where the drivers are mentally, no?
@lowerlaptime6 күн бұрын
@@robbiesmart2819 you're right, for the current state of play! However, How did Max get ahead, though? What do you do when it's 0-0?

Liam Lawson is doing a great job of showing he has the same attitude and perspective that Max does. Does a great job when overtaking cleanly and defends really well against faster cars, without getting penalised. Showing he is also a future world champion. Lando and Piastri aren't that mentally tough.

Interestingly, mercedes new book it mentioned how the race team identified reason why into spoon curve , suzuka lewis was losing 1.5 tenths to GR. They identified he was using a shorter corner and advised him to use a wider arc corner to get through the corner. I am still confused lewis must know this and why was he using a shorter corner (hugging the apex inner corner more) and not getting through this quickly. Maybe he doesn't have the confidence to let it run loose around the outside of the corner more?
@lowerlaptime11 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing! Great shout. I suspect it was into the 2nd part of Spoon because Lewis is tight line driver and probably dived in too early, sacrificing his exit down the straight. Great question and I'm not sure why these drivers aren't more open minded - hopefully with the work I'm doing and the downfall of Perez Riccardo Hamilton and Vettel we can shine a light on that issue here!
@thecompanioncube42118 күн бұрын
Exactly. It's a confidence thing. Lewis relies on strong rear grip and ground effect Mercedes has failed to provide him that or he failed to adapt to the reality of the car, whichever way you'd like to look at it

Yes he is finished.. nothing against him personal. Not just hate like so mant.. Although i am not a fan i am old enough not to be stupid about it... now please don't do the old in 2022 /2023 season Russell did better then him because Lewis was testing the new parts on his car B.S. because 1 it sounded like an excuse from Toto when he said it on air and of course Skyf1 ran with it since. 2 if it was true then as Lewis Hamilton 7 times champion. number 1 driver he must have been demanding that he was the one getting them ! ( And yes i know Skyf1 kept saying he was doing it for tje good of the team 😂 ) BS even his biggest fans knew that wasn't ture .. 7 times champions do things for themselves thats how the get there.. Now also remember in 2022 season he was in a few incidents particularly around the start of races . And Alonso said it correctly on the radio this guy can only race from front in the fastest car ! . Yes i believe this to be correct because he had spend the last 4/5 doing that.. Lewis is also older and as we all get older our sense of danger gets bigger and bigger. I know i'm 55 now and see danger on every road . Any like most of your videos. But please please don't fall down the 100 excuses for Lewis road.. 😢

Jesus guys, now a learning moment for this coach....if anything or anyone is a drama queen, it is Lewis Hamilton. The man has completely misbehaved after the completely justified loss of the 2021 title to Max Verstappen! It was also Max Verstappen himself who literally mentally broke Lewis with his genius as a young and new driver. Lewis Hamilton has shown absolutely nothing for 3 seasons and you can even now ask the question whether he has ever been as good as mainly the British press and his fans have always claimed. Lewis also grew up in the Woke era in which the emphasis was on color and race and Lewis Hamilton, together with his PR team, has exploited this political movement wonderfully. And that has certainly and perhaps even contributed to 75% of his immense and worldwide popularity. Probably Lewis will succeed, when he has an absolutely dominant car again, in just winning the 8th world title, which he also so desperately desires and ardently wishes for. But again then Charles will have to sacrifice himself emphatically for that greater goal of Lewis:-)
