Well said. I do know that Valery had designed this a long time ago and that was to improve the performance for those who compete. Most people have no idea about hand insertion much less proper alignment of the handle so that it rests directly on top of the hip of the hand. There can be improper positioning when the handle goes too far deep and allows the handle to rest incorrectly and that leads to pressure on the nerve. It can actually shut that nerve off temporarily and create numbness that can last quite a long time.

I have one of the KBK fitness bells that I use for a lot of TGUs on my left side (I have a same-weight bell that's a standard hardstyle cast for my right side). A month or so ago, I got this fluid-filled pocket under the skin right where the bevel sits. Or, rather, right where the bevel starts off, when I press up. It hadn't occurred to me until I watched this video that the reason I have what's basically a two-inch subcutaneous blister is that the edge of the freaking bevel is moving as I shift through the positions in the TGU. (I know, I know... work on my form more...) Regardless, thanks for helping me figure out what I should have realized to start!

Never considered what it would feel like if you didn’t get the hand insertion right. Really interesting perspective - thanks for this.

I have a kettlebell kings fitness edition bell and enjoy it quite a lot. I like the wide handle I find it more comfortable than most.

Great tip. I've never really used one of these. But now I at least have a good idea of there uses. And what not to use them for.

I prefer these beveled edge bells. More expensive but most versatile. prokettlebell.com/online-store?aff=swing Perhaps 2x 12 or 16 kg and one 24kg?

I actually use a loadable ketttlebell kings competition bell. It’s slighty bigger than the regular competition bells and fits my body better than the regular

I'd like to start training. But I am not sure which style of kettlebell should I get. Cast iron or competition. I don't plan on competing. I'd just like to drop half my body weight and gain some muscle. What would you suggest?
@kettlebellmusclegain2 жыл бұрын
competition are more expensive but you form stays more consistent as you change weights. cast iron gives you more room to move and error if you are new

A year ago I almost bought one of the gimmicky type bells (KBK) and then I watched a review you did and decided to go with kettlebell usa and Great Lakes. No disappointment there, thanks man!

I dont think its a gimmick. vF Kettlebells made the beveled edge in 2013. Theyre great for high endurance sets. Not much else.
