I love my Asian food, my Asian culture, and the fact that I belong to a group of people that I believe is unique in its own way. I'm proud of myself for being Asian, more specifically Chinese. All cultures and ethnicities are amazing in their own way if you pay close attention to something that makes them unique. Then again there is something that I don't like about being Asian, and that is the sexism, and sometimes extreme sense of collectivism. Collectivism is not bad for certain things, but not everything has to be based on collectivism, sometimes having a sense of individualism is not bad for certain things.

I would say food, my tanned skin (Burmese), nowadays we get more respect than before especially for Asian men, some aspect of culture as in I am selective of that. I was born in Burma but grew up here. I like American or western ideology of independency more than Asian’s collectivism, however I appreciate the warmness of the family which is beneficial if/when you need help which was born out of collectivism. So, yea, I would say mixed of two cultures; take the best and leave the bad.

hello fb, asian american now feels great with the kids growing up - used to sit in my father's car when he listens to chinese songs - my brother and i shared a walkmen listening to western music - then when we got to be parents - we can put tv in the back of the headrest - then the kids to look at the back of their heads to know shows and movies. think the sound is plugged into the headrest too. the father likes it us here - they are happy when we come home to them how house to car came out like now. now the workers are watching / catching up on movies in our palms. then we walk into even McD's and seconds we are out with our coffee and mcmuffin (ham and egg). everytime you mention thai, viet, or malay food - i only like singapore meifun (ham, sprout, green onion, slim slice sausage) - stirred and now toppings on top of the clean non toss mei fun. that is SEA (south east asian) king of all fried rice there. elle for ham in SEA

The best part about being Asian American is that I get to have the best of both worlds. I can have cherries, durians, burgers, bánh mì, hotpot, etc… without asking what is that? I have more options!

Not my favorite, but I notice many Asians use the same type of dishware and cookware..For example, the ceramic plates and bowls with the Chinese symbols/letters and flowers and such..😂 My favorite would be entertainment, even though much of it comes from overseas, it is common to consume content from various places in Asia as Asian Americans..

So glad that my grandparents came to the U.S.A. to avoid a mixed marriage. As I grow older, I appreciate my asian heritage more than I did as a kid. Yet I also appreciate the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights. Which I took for granted as a child.

Thru the lens of 1st generation immigrant: The food and martial arts that is offered is awesome. I love sharing with other Asians and immigrant families growing up in NJ. Here in Japan it's just Japanese and foreigner. I don't see the fusion like in the US. I enjoy being in touch with my Japanese, Filipino and Chinese roots out here but the mixing isn't really here like in NYC, Philadelphia & LA. I used to drive 9 hours to Tokyo from where I live to eat at a Filipino restaurant or visit Yokohama's Chinatown. Now I take the bullet train (Shinkansen) or fly domestic to Tokyo to do those things. BTW, Ikebukuro in Tokyo has a growing Chinese community.

Asian Americans reap the benefits of living in America and easily outpace others with their intelligence becoming the most successful in so many areas. Plus with how popular Asian culture has become, Asian men are finding it much easier to date and marry American women as they are now the most desirable race.

The Confucian ethos emphasizes humbleness meaning Asians tend to underestimate their own abilities whereas Westerners tend to overestimate their abilities. There's a reason why Asian parents don't celebrate their kids' accomplishments. Americans love to shower their children with praise. It's exceedingly rare to hear a direct, genuine compliment if you grew up in an Asian household.

I got into bars and clubs when I was only 18 because my friend gave me his driver's license. Funny thing is that we would go to clubs/bars and the bouncer would look at his driver's license and let him in, then I would go next with the exact same license and he would let me in. Never once did anyone question it!

hello , the delayed satisfaction is not about when we left the coupe (two door) - it is about how our parents manual handwork is lost and we do not fold a dumpling as nice as them anymore. are the kids okay to stop saying they are seeking satisfaction - but do not know how to cut off their parents hands for dumplings to sell. elle for stuffings
