I must convey, I am blessed with a gem of a GP, always listens, and works with me and my health. There are some great GPs out there 💟🙏

Thanks,Liz ❤. I had frequent uti in my mid 50's but other symptoms really only came from 58 so went on hrt. Im now 61 and feel I need a bigger dose as now getting g night sweats and raised anxiety 😢. . It just goes to prove hat we all have different needs. Like you, I will want to take it forever. Sadly I need a synthetic progesterone due to recurrent bleeding omwhen on utrogestan. A great shame because that helped my sleep. It us a matter of balance. Thanks again for all your information ❤

I had a hysterectomy in 2011, kept my ovaries and didnt start on HRT until 6 years later aged 51 - those 2 interventions gave me my life back , the first from debilitating bleeding, the 2nd so I could sleep again and not ache all over. My GP is fantastic and she gave me the website address of Dr Louise Newton, and says she uses her as a resource all the time, as her medical training over 25 years ago covered very little on the menopause - I see her once a year and get a years prescription at a time (2 x 6 month script) providing I take a BP reading every 6 months - I saw her 4 months ago, and she said I looked so fit & well, im now 58, that I was a good advert, and she sees no reason why I cant be on it indefinitely

What does it say as women of 61 still taking Oeastrogen gel . I still think it has benefits for me but when I have to go for my prescription checks the dr scares me silly. What are your views🌿❤️

The main risk with taking oestradiol is endometrial cancer. At the moment I'm seeing lots of women being put on the 2 week pathway for hysteroscopy/scans, from bleeding with HRT. It's a dreadful waste of resources and fear mongering, as it's almost never a sinister finding. Doctors are complaining about the extra work, blaming the women for 'messing around with hormones', and now many women are having their HRT stopped, temporarily or permanently. It seems there are some refinements that still need to be made to the current HRT options, to get things optimised for each woman to minimise hyperplasia while getting the best level of oestrogen. We're all different, like every pregnancy is different, every menopause will be different. More specialist training is needed, for GP practices who should be able to sort out most dosage issues, as well as secondary care for the genuinely complex cases. The last thing I want to happen is for the NHS to just pull the plug on menopause care and especially HRT, because the system is too clunky and women's bodies are 'too complicated.' We are worth the investment!! 😊xx

I’ve never taken HRT and was on the pill for a short time. Sadly though I developed both endometrial cancer and DCIS, according to my doctor due to fluctuating/ high hormone levels during menopause. Thankfully both were detected early, 6 operations and a dose of radiotherapy later I ( hopefully) am in remission with a low risk of both cancer’s returning. Barts hospital have categorically said no HRT as they believe this would be detrimental, I’ve changed my diet drastically ( thanks for the tips on this Liz) and increased my exercise and have lost 20lbs as well as moved from being borderline pre diabetic to well within the normal range. I am however suffering from joint pain. I’m taking responsibility for my health but am totally confused about how to proceed to reduce my risk of cancer and enabling my best future health. Why is this so difficult given the amount of scientific research and social media available to spread the word about best practice ? I’m sure I’m not alone in sharing your frustration Liz.

I needed a reminder of this. Ive been taking HRT for the last 6 years. I was thinking of coming off it. Im 64 & just lately my joint pain is becoming unbearable. Im seeing a knee Dr to discuss a knee replacement in a few weeks. My whole body aches with pain, especially joints. Maybe i need to up the oestrogen. I wonder ?

GP said no HRT for me, as I had a heart attack, and I needed to find a way to cope with my symptoms. Myth?
@lizearlewellbeing7 ай бұрын
You may be able to take HRT after a heart attack if you, a menopause specialist and a cardiologist decide it's okay to. So speak to your doctor ❤️

Morning girly hope all is well with you, sorry I tend to think differently it’s the cross I have to bare , you got oneself thinking in regards to your skin range and how you started. I know you sold the company so now probably enjoying yourself way too much = sorry I digress , looking at the nature and what you did to your skin ranges with natural elements to help in a variety of situations with women skins , have you not looked into a natural cream that would help with the menopause = maybe you have , actually I came on here to ask I saw you promote a Panama hat maybe last year sometime and wondered if you could give me their website = crazy I got distracted from asking about a hat to talking about the menopause = don’t be cross with me = cross to bear = just a little bit of humour , take care nice soul = me.
