Hello. Please be careful. Normally hedgehogs are nocturnal animals. A hedgehog out in the daytime is very susceptible to being attacked by flies. The flies lay their eggs on the poor créature, the eggs turn into maggots which then proceed to feed on the hedhehog. Maggots in the ears migrate down and it is very difficult to remove them. Euthanasia is usually the only solution. The hedgehog sanctuary near laval can give you advice- they have a website. Have a great holiday.

Oh NO, now I'm worried about this poor creature! 🥺 I know hedgehogs are very sensistive little animals, and this one has displayed such atypical behavior from the get go, not being shy, being overweight, and still remaining within the garden... Do you think the chickens may help keep any maggots at bay? If it's not shy of them, I'd assume they'd feast on any maggot they saw on the little fella? It's so strange he's active midday in the heat. And I'd assume chicken feed isn't a balanced diet for a hedgehog either. Don't they mainly eat proteins? Usually newborn mice, beatles and insects, earthworms, frogs and small cadavers, as well as berries and mushrooms from what I've learnt? Chicken fodder seems all wrong... What a (prickly) oddball. 😬

So much joy seeing what Amuery is up to in the Chateau his level of skill and detail is second to none. I think he has an effect on Dan too. Dan has uped his game as regards focus on all the small steps that go into turning out a beautifully finished piece of work. Example :Dan's new workshop is an inspired homage to Amuery's workshop at LaLande . We find friends who inspire and who we enjoy hanging out with ..Amuery and Dan have that. Amuey's mentorship and friendship with Dan is a great example of the positive effect men can have on each other, Movember is coming up you've got to plan a Bro trip to review all the events of the past year. Just amazing content Steff. Cant wait for Mommy and Precy's return. The Bells will peel for a week..

The irony is that till the 1700s in Europe, the color pink as a faded red was the color for boys and for the Virgin Mary the color blue was for girls. Then the fashion changed. Originally at the Chateau the boys and men would have wore pink.😘

When I was born in 1950 this was still true in Belgium! Girls had blue and boys had pink things.
@ferntella2 жыл бұрын
When I used to read the "Little House on the Prairie" books I remember Laura always being jealous that her pretty sister with the blond hair always got to wear the feminine blue dresses and ribbons, but she was stuck with a less attractive (from her perspective) red dress, that I believe also had pink in it. So I think blue was also considered more feminine in the USA for a while. And when my dad was a boy his dress-shirts were often pink.

Hi Stephanie, during our last growing season I had a abundance of Zucchini’s (courgettes) as well, If you have freezer space, dice or grate and freeze. I’ve been using mine all winter here in Australia, they still fry nicely, or can be added to soups, stews, pasta etc. I used the grated ones for zucchini bread, delicious. Love watching you guys.
@gnarbeljo89802 жыл бұрын
Great advice they can surely use! I have a great recepie for making vegetarian deep pan pizza using grated courgettes and sharp cheese in the crust, and it's delish! With abundance of courgettes and aubergines I do like the italians do and slice lengthwize, salt and grill them and let them submerge in olive oil, garlic, herbs and sometimes peperoncino and serve with grilled meat or fish or on antipasti plates (they keep for a good 2 or 3 weeks in the fridge this way and are great in cold sandwiches too.) For next year they should substitute some of the courgettes with more aubergines for pasta, babaganouch and fritters, and the more tasty forms of squash and pumpkins. All the pumpkin varieties keep for a long time once harvested and set in a cool place with air circulating around. Eggplant is more useful than courgette too. Melons. All grow happily in the same bed in the same soil. Also if you harvest the flowers before they turn to big fruit and suff them and fry them they are scrumptious!

Hi Stephanie, Phillip and all the really lovely Lalanders. We have been getting to 'know you all' since not only Chateau DIY but also from Nicki Storey and her Positano Diaries when she recommended your wonderful vlogs back In January. We have been watching them since then. You certainly help to brighten up our days( far more enjoyable and interesting than mot of our TV programmes!) and really enjoy seeing your excitement at the wonderful Cadeaux at the Chateau and quite often laugh with you when you open some of the amazing gifts you receive! I had 2 strokes last year and you are certainly helping my relaxation and so thankfully good recovery! Stephanie Mummy reminds me about my wonderful Mother too and how she also enjoyed gardening.We have also ''got to know' your lovely friends Anna and Edd and also Sarah and Steve (my Father was Canadian!) in their beautiful chateaux too. Back in July we messaged Anna and Edd when we saw the horrific fires near Bordeaux and Edd kindly replied to let us know that fortunately the fire was the other side of the Garonne River and luckily the wind was in another direction. Yesterday we saw how the terrible fires were once again near Bordeaux and lots of people were being evacuated. Also in the South of France. We do hope that none of them have been affected by these fires.We look forward to your future vlogs and seeing the fantastic restoration of your gorgeous Chateau as well as on the many interesting places you visit. Love from Christina and Nick Findell, Crediton. Devon UK.
