What Should I Do When My Dishwasher Shows The Water Tape Error Light - Cleaning & Care

Find out what to do if a water tape error light is shown on your Bosch dishwasher.
Steps:
1. Switch off and unplug the appliance. Then check the inlet and outlet hoses behind the appliance are not trapped or kinked.
2. Turn off the water supply, remove the inlet hose and place a bucket under the water supply. Afterwards, turn on the water, check it is running at 10 litres per minute, turn off the water supply and reattach the inlet hose.
3. Remove the detachable filter in your inlet hose and clean it under the tap. Then reattach the filter securely.
4. Check the hose and the spigot are not blocked by unscrewing them. Once done, reattach them securely.
5. Then check the waste water pump located below the filters is not blocked. Remove the filter and use a tea spoon to unclip the pump cover and check the pump impeller can move freely by using protective gloves.
6. Finally replace the pump cover and the filter into position and plug in and turn on the appliance again.

First thing to do is press power on then hold the start button for 3 or 4 seconds and close door to see if pump will drain any residual water from prior washing. This actually fixed my water tap message and beeping was also stopped.

Hi Here is another quick fix that works. The filter in the bottom of my dishwasher dishwasher was clean, yet clogged with mineral build up. I soaked the filter in vinegar (like cleaning a coffee maker) for an hour and it was like the second coming of the messiah--the dishwasher works 1000% better, the sound of the washing cycle is much more vigorous, and no more water tap error--for over a month.
