You are so very welcome, my dear. I am trying my best to give all women the menopause education they deserve. The problem is that menopause is THE most neglected topic on Earth, so most women don't know they need an education on it. I am the first and the only person to ever provide one. My dream is for ALL women to get this education in their 20s! Just imagine how much that would improve the lives of women everywhere.

Great info as always. Each new thing makes me realize how much women have just been left in the dark, shrinking up, drying up and being miserable. How unfair to be so misinformed or uninformed. You truly are a one of a kind blessing! Many, many thank yous!

I'm 68 and I don't have many of the issues described. I do advanced weight training and have for 30+ year. I've competed since I was 54 in national physique competitions. I don't eat any sugar, flour or fast food. I had a CT scan and the neurologist said my brain hasn't shrunk. No osteoporosis or bladder leakage. Perhaps my lifestyle is staving off some of these conditions?

Gym Gal I believe that the information in the video is of a general nature and does not apply to the same extent to all women. We all know very intelligent and mentally sharp post-menopausal women who are successful scientists, writers, politicians, businesswomen etc.in their sixties and seventies There is a theory that what you start with is crucial; if your physical and mental condition is very good in your forties and you are determined to take good care of that capital in the following decades, the decline on both fronts (which is probably inevitable) takes longer and is less noticeable.

Hello Dr. Barbie! I love your channel - great content and really well structured. Since I’ve been following it, I started HRT and also became a vegan 6 months ago - a healthy eating vegan - no processed food at all. Yesterday I did my cholesterol test and was very happy to learn that my LDL decreased dramatically, almost 50%, to 92 ml/dl. However, my HDL decreased too and my triglycerides increased. Also my hemoglobin decreased. These are my concerns and I wanted to ask if you have any tips for keeping these at good levels too, as a vegan.

Can you have a consultation with me? This is the kind of thing that warrants one. You're trying to make this a simple fix, and it isn't Unfortunately the ramifications of not understanding clearly what matters can result in a heart attack. So, if you can schedule a one-on-one consultation, I'll be able to really explain how all this works AND tailor everything to you personally. I can't do that here in this comment box. I do congratulate and applaud you for what you've accomplished thus far. Every little bit helps. But I want you to know the whole story. I'm in the business of educating you about everything you need to know and do in order to get exactly what you want for managing your menopause your way. So, here's how a consultation works: 1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you. I do consultations on Skype, FaceTime. Facebook Messenger, What’s App, and the phone. 2) I would confirm that you are scheduled for the stated time, and invite you to send me as much information about yourself as you please. You can make it brimming with details and tell me about your reproductive life, any gynecologic problems you've had, your symptoms of peri-menopause, and your symptoms of post-menopause. You can include all your fears, concerns, and goals for your menopause management. You may also send me any labs, mammogram results, bone density results, etc. that you would like me to include in designing your protocol. For instance, if you want to adhere to a certain category of management options (herbs or diet & lifestyle, or whatever), you should tell me that. I would need all these things at least 1 week before your consultation with me. 3) I'll get busy creating a document that gives you all the education you need to understand absolutely everything, points put the pros and cons of each option, and tailors it all to YOU using the information you have provided. The document will be loooooong. Most are 25 - 30 pages. 4) I will send you the document by email at least 24 hours before your consultation. You will benefit greatly by reading it in advance. Light bulbs will go off like crazy, and if you're like most women, you'll feel that you've already gotten your money's worth. 5) During your consultation, we will review the document and address any issues you want to fine tune everything and determine your best options. I'll tell you exactly how to find the right kind of professional, how to have the conversation in order to get what you want, and the nuances of things like guidelines and insurance. I leave nothing unaddressed. 6) You will go to a professional of your choosing in order to get the actual hormones or whatever you choose to use. 7) After the first consultation, I'll hold your hand (forever if you want me to). In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (15-minute or 30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to. I'll keep records of your situation. Most women schedule mini-consultation whenever they go to the doctor and don't understand what he or she said, or why. I translate. I make sense of everything. Most schedule mini-consultation whenever they have a new test and they want me to explain the results. And all schedule mini-consultation whenever their situation changes and they need to re-weigh and balance their options. The time you spend with me will make everything about working with any other professional so easy. And they will love the fact that you have an actual education rather than a bunch of misconceptions that you got form the Internet. If your initial hormone regimen is not right, you'll want to consult with me before going to your doctor. I can prepare you for what to expect and what to request. So, that's my role. And nobody else on earth does this kind of thing but me. So, I hope you schedule a consultation and let me hold your hand (figuratively).

I have lost a lot of friends through not being able to cope with their antics! How do we make friendships better after the menopause?
@MenopauseTaylor
@MenopauseTaylor 5 жыл бұрын
Well, actually, most post-menopausal women assess their friendships and decide which one are really working, and they distance themselves from the rest. At menopause, I think you know yourself better, and you are better able to choose friendships that are better for you. Set limitations. Tell people from the start what you will and will not do. Don't try to be all things to all people.

The Estring helps with all your vaginal symptoms: dryness, shrinkage, itching, burning, even urinary incontinence. BUT it does not help at all with any of the other symptoms of menopause or prevent any of the diseases associated with menopause. It does not travel into your blood stream. And, I'm sorry I missed this question previously. Sometimes, it's KZbin glitch in which I simply can't get to the comment.

I would never advise against what your dr says is in your best interest tho!! Just sharing my history. My estrogen dose is the lowest dose I believe. Hope you get some helpful results!! It’s tough sometimes. All of my drs just kept telling me “your not 25 anymore”. So I finally found a dr that actually listened and found my fibroid ovarian tumors and endometriosis !! So keep working on your health management!

So, I've written a book for those who like to read, have these videos for those who like to watch and have the time to wait for a weekly video, a radio show for those who like to listen and have the time to wait for a weekly broadcast, the entire education on DVD if you want it all at once, and the entire education as 15 individual chapter-by-chapter webinars. The consultations are great for tailoring everything to YOU.

Question that I seem to have trouble finding, I have your book and have followed the KZbin channel and even found you on spotify. Along with that I have so many books on menopause, my question specifically about the peri phase being 48 and still having a monthly period but beginning to gave intermittent symptoms, not many books about peri phase but the menopause books that I have that address peri phase and still having a monthly period say do not use HRT yet and to wait until actually skipping cycle. And I am confused if someone takes HRT while still cycling monthly, what happens to the period? It still keeps coming until the transition happens or the HRT takes it a way?

I think I've watched all of your videos and they are fantastic! Thank you!! Did I miss it or is there one where you comment on what the differences are between cyclic and static HRT? Was reading about the Wiley Protocol, wondering if it was worth doing. Is there a benefit to cycling hormones?
@MenopauseTaylor
@MenopauseTaylor 5 жыл бұрын
Video 41 addresses the different regimens for HRT. There is absolutely nothing special about the Wiley Protocol or any other type of bioidentical option. It's just one company marketing their product a certain way. There are many things to weigh and consider with regard to cycling hormones. That's precisely the kind of thing I can do with you in a one-on-one consultation because the biggest factor of all is YOU. In a consultation, I'll tailor everything to you, which will be the very best way for you to decide what's right for you.

My Dr has got me started on Estradiol vaginal cream. My question is could this medicine cause my lips to swell, hurt and get rough patches. (My lips are not chapped I just noticed this symptom after I started Estradiol.

Do all menopausal women experience vagina shrinkage if they don't take estrogen?
@MenopauseTaylor

Yes, it's just a matter of degree. Estradiol is vital to any vagina.

2years after a hysterectomy and oophorectomy I started using .05 estrogen patch to help with disease protection. Will this prevent vagina shrinkage also?
@MenopauseTaylor
@MenopauseTaylor 5 жыл бұрын
It should. However, your vagina is the most selfish part of your body when it comes to estrogen. Even when all your other needs are met, your vagina may still want more, more, more. That's why there are so many product that are specifically and only for your vagina.

This just proves that God made us just to have babies and when we’re done we are of no use.

For me oxytocin is certainly present but appears very selective. Mostly for my adorable puppy and of course my husband. Other people not so much these days. We have a beautiful community kitchen and my neighbor asked me to help with his dinner. There's plenty to share but I never fry my chicken and suggested some spices we have around then I said yahoo recipes and then I was done being nice and said to ask his girlfriend. Another time I was followed off my job site by a Spanish speaking man who asked if I was hungry. I needed to eat but not around there. I said no. It wasn't easy to understand each other but we both tried. Then I smelled the alcohol. I immediately said, "I don't drink dude have a good day" as I walked off. I just don't want to take the time because they have nothing better to do. I kinda like this behavior. Without disrespecting anyone I no longer find myself spending time I don't have doing things that have no relevance for me while trying to pretend I'm not annoyed with the situation. I do enjoy helping others and meeting people as long as I see a need or good reason.

Yes, losing oxytocin is one of the things most women like about menopause.

Joint mobility :( I was looking forward to less painful mammograms but sounds like menopause is going to suck. I like to do yoga, rock climb, run. Really don't care if I need to pee more often but I need my flexibility to be happy :(

Please know that my goal with these videos is to teach you how to make the rest of your life the best of your life. And the very first step un doing so is to have a complete education about it. You can definitely stay very flexible, and I'll be giving you plenty of videos to teach you all the ways you can accomplish that. This one was just to show you the common theme.

Menopause just sucks! And what stinks more is if you want to do something about it it’s ridiculously expensive! On a more positive note, your blue blouse or dress is really stunning on you. Thanks for all you do, Even if it is depressing sometimes😐
