As a parachutist, I can confirm everything he said 100 %. Leading up to a jump, you're scared, with the maximum fear being felt during the flight to altitude. But once the door opens, and you jump, it's the most amazing feeling in the world.

I want to skydive with my friends sometime but I'm in high school and quarantine sooo. But you're right, with other things I've done, such as run cross country races, I feel scared and nervous the day and morning before, and possibly during my classes before the race, but when you get onto the starting line and get ready for the gun to go off, you don't feel anything, all thoughts are pushed from your mind. Then after the race, you feel excitement and accomplishment for finishing the race.

The climb to altitude is what messes with me. After the door opens, I feel more relaxed. Passed AFF 1 and 2. And the sense of accomplishment after that first solo was soooooooo f'ing cool! Failed AFF 3 twice, though. My body position. The moment she let me go I lost control, then altitude awareness, back-to-earth. I pulled. With the hard opening, I induced a line twist. A tad bit proud I took care of it (even though I'm the idiot that caused it). Will is right. I'm a bit nervous to go at it again, but I'm going to push through that fear because you know what is on the other side? That feeling of when I do it right. Don't get me wrong. Doing another ten minutes of wind tunnel time. And I'll probably do category B again to bolster the confidence, and not to mention to get the critique of my arch.

Rose Tico Enthusiast you're right but you're not talking about the same thing that he is talking about. I don't know if you're just trying to missunderstand him? Do you not like being inspired by things to do greater things in life? You know that 'fear' can mean different things in different situations? There's irrational fear that keeps from doing things that are beneficial for you and there's protective fear which is great.

Last summer I saw this video and a week after I saw this I went skydiving for the first time. I couldn’t describe the experience better. I couldn’t sleep the night before, I couldn’t stomach anything, I just couldn’t stop thinking about jumping out of an airplane. I was so worried about it that I couldn’t focus on anything else the whole day prior to the actual jump. But as soon as I left that plane at 15,000ft I had the TIME OF MY LIFE. It was like all that anxiety I had vanished instantly and I just had so much fun. It definitely felt like I was flying not to mention how great the views are up there without having to look through those little plane windows. When I got back on the ground I wanted to go again. I felt so dumb for letting my anxiety control me for an entire day before I even got on the plane. And it only got worse the closer I got to jumping out. When they opened that door I just reminded myself that everything will be ok. I was jumping with a professional and god was watching over me and protecting me. And sure enough I was not only ok but had the time of my life. I would definitely recommend everyone try it.

Then he jumped straight in the point at the moment we least expect so that the lesson get into us deeply. And he ended it with another joke leave us with a smile and that made us remember the lesson forever. God bless you Smith

Yeah but people aren’t exactly afraid of what’s on the other side of those, more like what they’ll be missing on the side they’re already on. They don’t think just “oh I’m gonna die” they think about their past present and future. Regret, what shouldve happened what they should’ve said...Same with agony really, when you’re in pain your life usually flashes by. Plus a lot of time fear has nothing to do with death.

This applies to many aspects of life, not just skydiving. Fear holds many people back from living their lives to the full. They stay in their comfort zone instead of realising their full potential.

The only reason he and his family jumped out of that plane is because there was a whole team of professionals ensuring their safety… in real life, many risks are not designed with a safety team behind. I just got this shown in a career development workshop and it just dumbfounded me that people really eat up this stuff as if it would apply to real life risks… also, the fact it is a freaking MARKETING PIECE just went up their heads I think… reasonable fear is necessary and efficient in many aspects of life… very few scenarios actually emulate skydiving in Dubai while being a millionaire… seriously

This video made me jump at SkyDive Dubai. Thank you so much Will! A true inspirational video. I can relate 1000% to your words. I was so scared before doing it, but the moment, you are out of that plane, you feel like you can do anything in your life. You will never be scared to take risks, and once again shows that greatest things in life are on the other side of comfort zone.

Went skydiving for the first time yesterday. I wasn’t scared on the plane, I wasn’t scared when the door opened, I wasn’t scared at any part of the the experience. I was shaking scared and got 100% of the adrenaline rush when I made the phone call to book my skydive. It was weird to hear that I’m not the only one who felt that way
@drewmortenson

Dude I'm right there with you. I almost broke down on the ground, unwilling to fight my fear anymore, but once I was on the plane I was kinda just accepting of what was to come, even standing on the edge I felt ready, and with in a half second I was screaming for joy.
@alchemicalsoul
@alchemicalsoul 3 жыл бұрын
Man, I almost forfeited that $450 by just saying forget it.....lol.....It just became pure surrender and acceptance all the way up and back to the ground. The Dallas skydive team happened to be there the morning I went and was practicing its moves in the space. They were so committed to their routine and the anticipation every diver seemed to have before getting on the plane calmed me. I realized this is truly a sporting community so safety HAS to be Paramount. My instructor and videographer were so laid back. Instructor said he's nervous every time after thousands of jumps, but that it creates awareness. The jump brings a sense of self, the Universe, the soul, the mind, the body..... Just total transcendence. I understood the why the moment we left the plane.

I'm going skydiving for my birthday hopefully this year. I only want to go so I can pretty much make myself get on roller coasters.. cause I'm sick of missing out. Basically, after skydiving and when I go to a six flags or something and see the rollercoasters, I'll tell myself "I jumped out of an airplane, this shouldn't be as scary as that"

That's the way it was with me. I jumped twice and both times I was calm for the weeks prior. I was only nervous when the doors opened and I thought "why in the world am I doing such a thing?" I was terrified sitting in the plane door, hanging out, only attached to a parachute via straps that were holding me to the dude behind me who had the parachute. He did the countdown and my mind was like, in 1 second we go and we drop out of this plane. I was terrified. And then we went. Instantly it was the most amazing feeling I've ever had. Hovering way up there at 120 mph with the wind rushing in your face. Looking down at the world. If you can handle adrenaline, I highly highly recommend it. It's awesome.
