Well Done. Your scientific approach to the comparison of the Lubricants is impressive. The only feedback for improvement would be to work on the Focus when changing from Near to far, zoom, etc. As stated in the beginning good collection of comparative data regarding lubricants in locks as well as good verbal delivery of information.

I use WD40 because condensation gets into the lock because of the temperature difference between the outside and inside, then the condensation freezes the lock.

I was breaking my head over what to use to lube a sticky exterior car door lock given all the options and mix opinions. so I just spray cleaned it with fast drying non-residue break clean and lubed it with wd-40 dry lube ptfe. We'll see how long it holds up. Seems to work well for door locks and there's a handful of good reviews out there.

I think a good test would've been to lubricate the locks, run some water through them, then give 20 minutes or so in room temperature to drain, then freeze them. I wouldn't think frozen locks would be caused by freezing lubricant but by freezing water. The question is, what lubricant works better against freezing water?

I have a bad relationship with graphene now. It's the lube that seems to have the most mix feelings when it comes to locks. Some say it sucks against extreme temperatures (exterior door locks) and can harden with water and gum up over time, but then you have a video like this? 🤷‍♂️ dunno anymore. lol

Anyone know how to approach a lock that is full of salt and dirt? I have a padlock that I put on the back of my box truck and the back door was full of dirt and salt from the roads and now the lock will not lock nor can I put a key in it

+Sergio Fonseca Get some PB Blaster brand pennitrating Oil. Spray this in the lock and let it sit over night. Then rince it out with brake clean solvent. flush with compressed air and lubricate with tefflon. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJ2YdqRjgsqoqJY

It sounds like you're getting water or there is already water in the lock. Heat it up and figure out how water is getting in and cover it appropriately to prevent it.
