What stood out about Tekken 8 Hwoarang?

Chip damage is obvious to anyone who saw Hwoarang in action, but there is more to the Taekwondo Practionier. There were throwbacks to his days in Tekken 6 & Tekken Tag Tournament 2, along with carrying over a couple of things from Tekken 7. Tekken 8 Hwoarang certainly looks good at first glance, however there are things that affected his gameplay in a major way.

Appreciate the comprehensive analysis. Not having a high crush is important. I found that move stupid and hardly used it but occasionally someone challenges with a jab. I was more curious about the hitboxes on his moves. Are we going to be terrorised by mid crushes and back dashing out of the pressure still? 🫤
