You should make a video about how to attach hanging plants like boston ferns or a pothos
@NeptunetheChameleon4 жыл бұрын
I use Dragon Strand ledges and use similar techniques as the ones I talk about in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJzaqaalgayNpbM
@falsecharm27464 жыл бұрын
Neptune the Chameleon sorry if this offends you in any way im not meaning to qwq But let’s take dragon strand ledges out of the equation for now. How could things like floral wire hold a hanging plant on a screen, it’d just rip the screen and slowly slide down...
@NeptunetheChameleon4 жыл бұрын
False Charm I’d attach the plants to the branches you already have in there. If you cut slits in the plastic pot, then you can run floral wire through them and around the branches. (I personally find zip ties sturdier) Then the branches are kind of acting like Dragon Ledges.

So would just regular dirt be ok to put in a chameleon enclosure?
@NeptunetheChameleon2 жыл бұрын
That depends on if your chameleon will try to eat the dirt. The best option would be to keep the bottom bare and just have potted live plants at the bottom.

I’ve had a carpet and the misting system has soaked it and made it stink so thank you for giving me a new option! I’m wondering what do the plants do? Like if I were to not have any potted plants at the bottom would it cause issues?
@NeptunetheChameleon3 жыл бұрын
The plants catch the water from your dripper/mister. Otherwise the water will just sit at the bottom of the enclosure. I drill holes in the bottom of the enclosure with a bucket underneath to catch the water in addition to having potted live plants. My other videos show this in detail :)

@hvasquez134 жыл бұрын
what dose it mean when your chameleon hangs out bottom of his cage??
@NeptunetheChameleon4 жыл бұрын
Depends how long they’re spending at the bottom. If they’re actively moving, and just down there for a bit, odds are they are exploring. If your chameleon is spending most of their time on the bottom, that can be a common sign of a sick chameleon. I should also mention that if you have a female chameleon, they will go down to the bottom to look for somewhere to lay their eggs.
@hvasquez134 жыл бұрын
@@NeptunetheChameleon thanks he is a jackson he’s about 1.5 years old
@hvasquez134 жыл бұрын

@NeptunetheChameleon4 жыл бұрын
Sleeping during the day and hanging out at the bottom are signs of a sick chameleon. I'd make sure you have the correct UVB bulb (kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4O5m5qXgdiKpJo) and supplement schedule (kzbin.info/www/bejne/pH2yf3aNbtmGhqM). I would also suggest taking them to the vet.

@NeptunetheChameleon4 жыл бұрын
Ehh while the idea sounds super cool, that isn't something I would recommend. The water would not provide any sort of benefit to the chameleon, and just be a potential risk. Chameleons are not aquatic and have been known to pass away from bacteria grown from water features.

hi, i have been watching a lot of your videos recently and many other youtubers and websites because i am thinking of getting a vailed chameleon, im 16 and my budget is $450 at most for the enclosure i would like to have somewhat of a nice setup, i have made a list of the things I wanna buy and invest in. my question is do you think the mist king is worth it to start with? or should i just do with a spary bottle, i do spend a lot of time home and im very excited to get one of these creatures.Oh and also if you have any plat recomendations, please let me know thanks
@NeptunetheChameleon4 жыл бұрын
I would say to just use a spray bottle to start out. The MistKing is a “nice to have” not a “have to have”.

Hey, I just got a baby veiled chameleon, and the breeeder told me to get a 60 watts heat bulb for him and since today morning, he's only stayed at his basking branch. the breeder told me not to get a 75 watts or 100 watts until he's older. He hasn't really moved from his spot except for when I mist the cage, or give him his food.
@NeptunetheChameleon4 жыл бұрын
Gotta give him time to settle in. Make sure your basking temps are in the low 80s.

@NeptunetheChameleon4 жыл бұрын
Few differences... Obviously she will need a laying bin. Here is a good resource: www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/egg-laying-and-the-laying-bin.345/ Additionally, females need lower temps and less food to help reduce clutch sizes. Keep her basking spot no hotter than 80F. And start to cut back her food around 6-8 months old.
