He justifies murdering in MCU because of overpopulation, but obviously there are other alternatives he could do with his infinity gauntlet, he simply prefers murdering as the method of overpopulation, which indicates him as a psycho. He was also manipulated WITH love by death (it wasn't actual true love, which is a difference) in the comics, so it's debatable which Thanos is more evil.

Greed he's called the MAD Titan for a reason. MCU Thanos has what he thinks is a proven philosophy. He saw his home planet become over populated, they rejected his proposal and the world became a lifeless wasteland. Gamorrah's home planet was going the same way, he kills half the population and years later its thriving. He KNOWS that killing is wrong but he's prepared to make the sacrifice that no one else will make. Although the whole cut the population in half thing doesn't hold up if you know anything about supply chains.

It's because, unlike with his biological kids, Thanos didn't try to force himself to love Gamora. Initially, Thanos didn't expect to feel any strong emotions for her. He simply came to care for Gamora as years grew by, gradually and naturally. It's the classic case of not being able to find what you seek when you are frantically looking for it, but then it comes to you once you least expect it. Originally, Thanos adopted Gamora so he could train her to kill Magus, the evil counterpart of Adam Warlock. That's all she was meant to be in the beginning, someone he could train into a perfect assassin. Therefore, caring for Gamora certainly wasn't something he was expecting in the slightest and it's why growing to love her snuck up on him as it did.

He was okay in the movies, but he's much more interesting and far better written in the comics, particularly those written by Jim Starlin, his creator, since virtually no other writer understands Thanos the way he does. The comic that's discussed in this video, _Thanos Rising,_ was written by Jason Aaron, NOT by Starlin and it actually contradicts many facts that Starlin had previously established about Thanos's backstory (e.g. Thanos vivisecting his mother). Suffice to say that Aaron is just another writer that doesn't understand Thanos's character and just makes him out to be a generic mustache-twirling villain. Try reading actual source material before making ignorant statements. Starlin's Thanos is far more complex and has much more depth than his watered down, poorly-written MCU counterpart. Starlin's Thanos is one of the most intelligent characters in the history of comics (at least when it comes to strategy, manipulation and scientific knowledge), meanwhile MCU Thanos is so stupid that he can't see his "solution" to overpopulation is utterly illogical and completely inefficient. Furthermore, he was dumb enough to entrust the likes of Loki and Ronan with finding the Infinity Stones, got predictably betrayed by Ronan and not only did he fail to get the Stones he wanted, but he also lost the one Stone he already had in his possession. The only thing that redeems MCU Thanos is that Josh Brolin's acting is freaking phenomenal which is why I'm sorry he didn't get the chance to portray a well-written Thanos that's actually faithful to the source material.
