That trade also netted the Hawks Cam Reddish and the flexibility to trade up to get Deandre Hunter the next year, it wasn't just Luka for trae straight up
@vigsk17
@vigsk17 3 жыл бұрын
@@willpsone Yea exactly, Hunter has the ability to possibly even make the situation which came out of this trade to be a dub, his averages were amazing and his defense is really good. And cam will probably improve as Nate had managed to squeeze more out of everyone. IMO this trade currently is an L for the hawks now but based on overall value can end up being a dub based on how much more reddish and hunter improve.

@@drizzyuzumaki8753 In multiple interviews and post-games, there’s such admiration and chemistry between the three. Malone wouldn’t incorporate MPJ in such a way if Jokic and Murray didn’t like/trust him to become great. Jokic said he wants to bring a championship to Denver. Jamal loves Denver and the culture built plus is basically in love with Jokic (who isn’t) and MPJ is becoming such a big piece to the team and he wants to be the complete player he sets out to be for the team in years to come

@Dre Westbrook Jokic and Murray are under contract. Letting MPJ leave would be the worst the decision Nuggets have made as a franchise. Okok, so hear me out. On one side you have the MVP of the second best league in the world, the youngest to ever do it, an European champion for Slovenia, playing professionally since he was 16 years old against grown men, and on the other side you have 2 college athletes who haven't proven themselves yet. HOW do you take them before Luka? What some people don't understand is that Luka with the achievements he had prior going to the NBA already made him a hall of famer and the NBA doesn't like taking risks when it comes to European talents.

Ultimately, all teams in the draft got the pieces they were missing. The Mavs needed a replacement for Dirk and a person who could run the offense with great vision and could score, The Hawks needed the same type player but someone who could perfectly slip right into the system and get things started from the first minute, The Suns needed that center who could be Dominant on the offense and solid on the other end, The Denver with MPJ, well... The Cavs took Collin Sexton who was that offensive playmaker who they were missing, The Suns took Mikal Bridges who is pairing up really nicely with their Squad, De'Aaron Fox is one of the best Gaurds in the league, The Hornets have a talented Devonte Graham and every team got the player they needed

The Nuggets are gonna win a championship in the next five years with MVP caliber Jokic, potential superstar MPJ, and potential superstar Jamal. Knowing this team is a small market team, drafted a possible MVP with the 42nd pick, a potential superstar just inside the lottery, and potential superstar outside the top 5, this could be the greatest rebuild of all time. And they also have Aaron Gordon who could be one of the best glue guys in the league, probably already is.

Starting from a defensive liability, Deandre Ayton might fuck around and end up being a better befensive player than offensive. Fr he's improvement is astronomical, and he's just so big and agile.
@Frank-hv7xj

Unless mpj improves in defense or becomes efficiently close like kd, he so far been extremely lucky to being drafted in a good position. 1, Denver has proven to be capable of developing players. 2, Having jokic as a teammate must be a dream come true for any offensive minded players. Gordon said himself it has been easier scoring in Denver! If he was drafted anywhere else I don't think he could match this season in Denver. At least not this early.

yeah, havent watched a ton of denver games but from what ive seen, i feel like his handles need more work. not saying he cant put it on the floor and get to the rim, but if he wants to become truly elite then i think he needs better handles and shot creating abilities and everybody better watch out when he does cuz my god, this kid is stupidly talented

@@Heart_ken01 yeah good point, dont know why that never really crossed my mind lol. but with his size, shooting touch and ability to move, he would be absolutely deadly with a post up game. add some decent handles (at the very least) at some point and theres really no stopping him

MPJ has been shooting lights out and has been insane this year, but 2nd best player is a real stretch. The dude has insane shooting splits, especially as of late, but then you look how he’s getting these shots. 92% of his three pointers are assisted and 72% of his twos. Until I see home creating his own shots regularly and keeping high efficiency I still have SGA and Trae ahead of him

The hawks did a really good job at building around Trae young, basically filled all the holes he couldn't. They got kris dunn who has sadly been injured but is a defensive beast, and got guys like Lou Will and Gallinari, and Bogdan. Mavs don't really have any one else besides Porzingis and Brunson tbh, Hawks created a really solid team.
