This video depicts how far from understanding how Russia X China relationship works. Western vision is of power and domination, who rules and who bows, this is a medieval vision of the world. China's relation with Russia is of cooperation in areas of mutual interests and, contrary to the west, it is not of dominance or who leads but if both are achieving their national interests without hurting the other's interests. The west has a lot to learn from Asia and I just hope it happens before Americans and their subservient European footmans in their regular idiocy start a Global Thermonuclear war that will inevitably incinerate us all into extinction!
@johndoh5182 Жыл бұрын
Yeah we'll agree to disagree with everything you said. I think most Westerners CLEARLY see this relationship as one of convenience since after all these countries have had skirmishes with each other and neither really TRUSTS the other. I'm wondering how much debt China will allow Russia to have before they decide they want to collect no matter what the situation is in Russia, because China's economy is starting to tank. Or, does RUSSIA really like that China gets to pay a low price for Russian oil when Russia needs every penny it can get? Their relationship is no different than many other countries relations with other countries and it's laughable to suggest otherwise. However they are BOTH kind of screwed because of the BRI so you know, birds of a feather?

Russia has become the biggest buyer of Chinese cars, as foreign automakers exit the Russian market, according to The World Weekly. Imports have risen fivefold, while China has become Russia's largest trading partner and accounted for around 20% of total imports in 2016. The two countries have signed a 30-year Treaty of Friendship, Alliance and Assistance, which included collective security promises. The relationship has grown since 2014 when President Vladimir Putin annexed Crimea and began to break his relationship with the West. Putin and Xi Jinping have met 40 times, and the two countries have closed ranks against the US and its allies on key security issues. China has also benefited from the relationship, securing access to Russia's natural resources, and the yuan's use in Russia’s export payments surged 32 times last year. The war in Ukraine has probably done more to advance China's cause to challenge the dominance of the dollar than decades of policy making in Beijing.

It's not "damaging China's global image". I absolutely despise these Europeoid colonialists and descendants of colonialists for this extreme hubris - to think and behave as if they were the whole world! Quite the opposite actually, China needs to show the rest of the world that it will not bend under pressure from USA and its "allies". It's 100% basic Political Realism. The state needs to project its power, which is impossible to do through trade alone. What Trump has done is he has thrown the first wrench into the system of global trade, Biden has gone even further with his sanctions policies, and now the 2 biggest thoughts on international suppliers' minds are: 1. "You do something very minor, but something Washington doesn't like, - and your trade is in jeopardy. 2. "It's difficult or impossible to guess ahead of time what Washington will not like, - if they simply don't like the existing contracts, - they will accuse us of "robbing them". What China needs to do is step in and project the illusion of their ability to separate business from politics in order to attract more investors, and secure favourable contracts with Global South. No one wants to deal with a pushover who allows its competitor to call the shots.
@ZweiZwolf Жыл бұрын
Indeed. German investment in China is actually increasing, because it's too expensive to invest in Europe due to the lost of cheap Russian energy. If anything, China repeatedly ignoring America has greatly increased China's global image with the Global South, emboldening them to do the same, knowing that China will still trade with them.

Russia wanted to be a friend with the west after 1991, but many attempts to do so including joining EU in 2000s were declined because of the west Cold War inertial mentality. So you've got what you give. So, who does "redraw the international order"? The west does by itself.
@jiangXS Жыл бұрын
The same thing is still happening, and China has always reiterated that it is not interested in challenging the United States, but in fact, China and the United States are now engaged in a new cold war, which originated from the trade war launched by Donald Trump in 2018😅My understanding is that the United States wants to be the most powerful country forever, but based on the context of history. This is impossible to achieve

i remember some strategic sessions on c-span from around 1990s whereby the world should be split into 5-7 economic zones. China+Russia was one of those defined zones to be. So in a way those planners got what they wished for.

@kinngrimm Жыл бұрын
@@calvinhoward3808 Europe and Afrika, Saudi Arabia and India, Japan to Australia to Philipins to Vietnam(not 100% but i think it was just called Indo-Pacific) and then the 2 americas together. There was talk about getting a hold on the arctics by the americas, but as climate change wasn't quite there yet there was uncertainty, Nowadays i would assume these planners would have added it if anything else would have kept the same, which ofcause it didn't.

If you read Samuel Huntginton's Clash of Civilizations, he breaks the major players into basically Western America, Sinic China, and Slavic Russia, then India, LatAm, the Muslim bloc and other minor players. His insight was prophetic in seeing the coming fracture in the Ukraine along with Israel.

Historically. That friendship was always a one sided relationship, with one always giving and the other always taking with little reciprocation.

I don’t think India could really integrate with the west. Like China, as a 1.4 billion population country, India should become an independent polar in the world.
It has to last. From around 2050, China will weaken and start to ally with US, and both of them will gang up against India.
@gjsoriano1 Жыл бұрын
@mastertrend4685 true. Even the foreign minister of India always points out that India, with its huge population, deserves its own voice and view of the world politics.
