FANTASTIC VIDEO REVIEW OF THE STUNNING Ford Falcon GT-HO Phase 3. Wow, I love the Falcon, my favorite, is the 1979 Falcon XD, Fairmont Ghia & Cartier cars to die for lol. I am coming to Australia this year 2024/2025 to buy a couple of these amazing FORDS.

From my memory the Phase III ran a Holley 780 carburetor not a 600 CFM carby.

I had a XW GT-HO WAGON Candy Red Factory Shaker Missus made me sell it My neighbours brother in-law reckons HO - Hood Option And mine was a 1 of 1 XW with a factory shaker and 1/2” fuel lines.

I"m almost 100% sure at ALL GTHO's {Phase 1 11 & 111} only came as a 4 speed non-were auto

correct, NO Auto in the HO, GT had Auto.. Ok, I did not know this about 1 in each ...

Not quite as Ford DID produce autos in HOs, one in each phase,however saying that there is only 1 that has been found and that is in the phase 1 which was found 54 years later and is actually verified and documented.

HO=Handling Option

HO was for Handling Options not High Output, as the HO's had upgraded brakes and suspension.

Fact, it was beaten down the 1/4 by a 6 cylinder Charger. Fact, it was beaten by a 6 cylinder Torana at the 500 miles at Bathurst. Fact, this video is crap for showing dumb computer games

HK T G Monario had a Chev engine and US gearboxes the part that was Aussie just rusted away (the body and Yframes) HK 327 4 sp A blistering 16.1 1/4 mile crap car .

Dumbest shit I've heard in years. 1.commodores didn't exist when this falcon did its rival was the Kingswood GTS and Monaro GTS 2. ford dominated this era of Australian motorsports "who is Alan Moffat?". 3. Commodores sucked a big bag of dicks until the VH at the earliest though I would say they really didn't hit their stride until the VT.

@The_Last_Ninja I have an lv2 code 304 vk t5 gear box and borgwarner diff. I've had it for 18 years. I love it, it's a tough car, but it's no phase three gtho. The xy falcons in general were great cars. Sure my commodore probably handles a little better. But that's because it's a newer car. I know a man that has an xy wagon with a 351, top loader and nine inch. I love it.

No GT--HO was ever Automatic . The standard GT used a 600cfm Autolite Carby and cast iron Exhaust Manifolds , all GT -HOs used a 780 vacuum secondaries Holley Carb , HM Headers and a Solid Lifter Camshaft with a twin point Distributor . The Ford Factory was in Campbellfield NOT Broadmeadows . Cars were assembled there , GT -HOs were assembled by Ford Racing across the Hume Highway in a different Building .HO stood for handling OPTIONS not high output . Allan Moffat's Bathurst winning Car , dynoed at 340 hp at the flywheel . Standard GT was supposed to be 300 hp but was actually nearer to 200 . Ford like everyone else at that time greatly exaggerated Power figures . Moffat's Car had a hand built fully blueprinted Engine and was the most powerful GT -HO Engine that Ford Racing ever built and made 340 hp at the flywheel . These claims of 400 hp engines is totally absurd .
