Excuse me, but Tommy said he "never had an accident." Probably my most favorite episode of TFL was when Tommy backed their Tesla into the the corner of their bay/studio. Realizing his mistake he had the most entertaining come apart I have seen filmed. It spawned multiple episodes over the trials and tribulations of getting Teslas repaired and the insurance issues. The total for the fender bender was over $10k and months of delays. In my book that qualifies as an "accident."

I'm sorry to hear that... But please don't lose hope! There's a lot that can be done even at stage 4. One of the most effective solutions to any cancer is actually long term water fasting. Go on the internet and look for "the truth about cancer". You'll find a wealth of information that oncologists are never exposed to. Unfortunately, the medical system is rigged for profit, not for effective solutions. And most doctors don't realize this or simply don't care. And those that do are usually ostracized and tend to lose their licenses. It's sad, but you can't blindly trust your doctor. To get the best medical care you need to actually educate yourself sufficiently. That's why online resources like the one I mentioned are so helpful. Wish you the best!

46:50 The fact that most people do NOT have a garage full of more capable trucks is a great reason to NOT by the Maverick as they will need a "truck" to do "truck" things. I agree with Tommy 100%. For 20-25K the Maverick makes a ton of sense. For the price of 37K I can get very well equipped 1/2 tons from Ram and GM and Ford(not MSRP but actual sale prices.) MPG is about the only thing I can think of that makes this make sense, and once again not for 37K.
@is656613 сағат бұрын
The Maverick was great value when Ford originally sold (a few dozens probably) for $19k or so. Then they kept raising the price and it’s a complete rip off if you think the financial side through.
@BonanzakingСағат бұрын
Thing is the Maverick was announced before the government went on a money printing spree and that 20k price became untenable. It’s a fairly capable truck much like old school rangers for reasonable stuff. It’s good enough for plenty of businesses from pest control, to plumbers as many tradesmen don’t need a full size truck. Plus the bed is pow enough to the ground to make getting stuff out of the bed easy like the old school rangers unlike unpractical full sized trucks when it comes to bed height.

I wanted to buy the trail Hunter Tacoma when they were announced. Then I saw the pricing and the California Toyota dealer additional $10000 market price adjustments. I just can’t do it. The 4Runner will be the same. The only advantage the 4Runner has is the fact that it’s JDM so unlikely that they carry the same issues the new Tacoma have.

I just bought a 2024 Gladiator Mojave partly based on the reviews of the Gladiator TFL did with the long-term one y'all (yep, from TX) had. Jeep is having crazy incentives on them right now. The sticker was ~65k, and my OTD ~ was 45k, to which I then added a MOPAR 8yr/100k warranty for a little under 3k, bringing my total cost to ~48k. The new 4Runner OR that y'all just bought is 10k more? Not to mention how much the TrailHunter and TRD Pro will cost. It's crazy. Even the 25 Gladiator Mojave or Rubicon will be a bargain with their price reductions compared to 4Runner OR and above trims. Before the Toyota fanboys ding me (I am one), we own a 2013 Sequoia we love and if I could have gotten an NA Toyota SUV/Truck with the rear room and AC vents in the rear that Gladiator has, I would have gone that route. But the previous gen 4Runner doesn't work for me because the seats are too small. The real point I'm trying to make is that the value proposition between the Gladiator and the 4Runner is very off-kilter.

@ - they don’t markups the prices here. It’s what you build it for on the website minus $400 as their fee is $599 instead of the $999 quoted on the website. No games, no “must take” security crap or warranty. You make your own decisions & they will answer your questions and consult on the vehicle. It’s still so expensive especially when you see the less expensive domestics also showing discounts. I bought a 24 Ranger XLT FX4 with the 2.7 V6. It was thousands less than a similar Tacoma TRD Off-road with the base engine. I’m not worried about reliability. There’s a bout 95 or more people that have no issues for every 4 or 5 that do. Even then, not all of those that have issues are serious issues. They are losing market share. The competition is so much better, almost literally now!! You can get a Chevy ZR2 Colorado as I would have built for $69,000 before negotiating. That’s a more capable vehicle for $20,000 less!! Hahaha.

Roman's Rant Matter points were very valid in my opinion. You shouldn't *_have_* to even find workarounds and "solutions" to stupid oversights. Engineers are smart enough. They could figure it out so it's not stupid. But somehow they have their heads up somewhere and they probably can't do anything about that. The industry is being led by senseless blind men and the engineers are forced to go along with it. And the consumers, having gotten artificially persuaded over the decades into getting a new lease every 3-5 years, are collectively being muscled into a corner that the leaders of the industry have arbitrarily decided that they should want and that theme is *bedazzlement.* It's like a circus that escalates along with the pricing until something breaks and we're just about there already. Some innovations are a definite perk, but a lot of it is just some CEO's nephews' derailed pet project at best. I'm glad at least some manufacturers are willing to lend an ear to their customers enough to make meaningful changes. Anyway, that's my Rant Matter. *Thanks for another engaging episode guys! Love you both!*

"Nobody gives it a chance just because its Electric" - Yes. Roman - you say you don't care what powers the car. Thats great. The rest of the consumer market DOES care. It's as important as deciding between a sedan and an SUV....

@benblakeney741815 сағат бұрын
@@TFLtalk Maybe most people do not care about the drive train, but a significant minority do care. If all I did was city driving, an EV would make sense for my situation (owning my own house so I can charge it at home, shorter commutes, etc.). But the few times a year I take a long road trip, it's a deal breaker because of the charger network and time to charge it up. I would love a Rivian SUV (other than the air vents being controlled through the screen, I think it's fantastic). Also, many car buyers don't own a home and rent apartments where charging is neither at the cost of your electricity nor even available. There are many use cases the car-buying public considers for not buying an EV other than the very vocal political minority. These facts get lost in the politics.

@julioc.guevara3658 they used to share the same assembly lines as the Tacoma. But I hope you are right because Toyotas quality currently no better then the big 3 in America.
@is656613 сағат бұрын
Tacoma and 4Runner never shared same assembly line. Taco was built first in USA and then both in USA and Mexico at same time then it was moved to Mexico 100%. The 4Runner was always built in Japan.

In the USA pure EV sales in 2024 accounted for 8.1% of total sales, up from 7.8% share in 2023. Information from Cox Auto.

17:00 these engines have major issues, and it is hard to find parts to fix those engines. You can wait 1 year or more for rebuilding 1 engine if you are lucky 3 months minimum. Nobody wants newer cars that don't run and have issues. Corvettes are reliable, and lots of customization is possible

Recently there have been stories about the inability to insure new vehicles like the Cybertruck. Now this video is saying that trend is also happening to used vehicles too. I have been driving for over 50 years and don't recall insurance being because of the type of vehicle, just the driver risk like too many DUIs. What if you buy a vehicle to only find you can't get insurance? Do we have to check with our insurer first before buying now? What if they decided to get just liability (no collision), would Tommy then be able to drive the Aston-Martin?
@is656612 сағат бұрын
Before I buy any new vehicle I always check with my insurance agent first by providing the specific VIN to see the insurance quote. I am doing this for the last 20 years.

I understand Roman's rants about the ambient lighting and the seat settings. I agree with Tommy, you can pre-set your seat settings and ambient light to what you like and keep it that way.

Have you seen Toyota’s issues the last 2 years lol? All of these new turbo and smaller displacement engines have proved to to be not too good. Just look at eh Tacoma sales? Have you seen the pricing along with amount of these trucks on lots? Toyota has fallen just like most manufactures.

EV’s shouldn’t be politicized. They are a wonderful thing because they give us more choices. Mandating or forbidding something is wrong. Mixing politics and cars doesn’t make any sense.

When it comes to disagreements between Tommy and Roman, I normally agree with Tommy, but on the Maverick I am completely with Roman. I have a 23 Maverick hybrid and live in Texas. Most of the year I get a minimum of 37 miles per gallon at the pump, usually more. This time of year it does struggle a little more even in Texas because the engine has to run to run the heater. Drive this thing around in April through October and you will be in love with it. Or move to a more southern climate and you’ll love it more of the year. I hope y’all hold onto yours long enough to do another Denver 100 in April or May.

I like the 4Runner but I'm with Tommy, not sure trading the Defender for a new 6th Gen was the best decision. From a content perspective, really how different can it be from the Taco you had?

The 4runners fulltime 4wheel drive is an ON-road feature not an off-road feature That is why its part of the Limited trim and not the off-road trims. That would be my guess

@johan… EV association funded study showed that only 1% of EV owners want to go back to ICE. McKinley consulting company study showed that about 46% of current EV owners consider going back to ICE. 😃

Maverick is attacking mid and small suv owners along with light tradespeople. Those segments see a lot of utility in it - hauling nursery/gardening materials and carpentry equipment etc but still easy to drive in city/highway. New vehicle, relatively cheap to buy and run. This segment really doesn’t want to be nickel and dimed by and off-warranty used vehicle.

When will Stellantis learn they have ZERO clue what the American market wants. They need to sell the brands back to someone. No one buys a jeep for luxury. A jeep that’s can’t at least act like it can off-road is useless.
