Great reaction. 'PA PA YA' is a summer festival song - and it really is about a spicy green papaya fruit salad.🥝🥗 Such a good live song, it really gets the whole crowd jumping ... and waving towels round their heads (Su, Moa and Momoko love to see everybody doing that and we love to see them happy, so everybody brings or buys a towel specially for this song). F Hero was their guest for this song. He is a rapper from Thailand and very well known there, he flew in to Japan specially to perform on the first two nights of the 2019 tour (that was him on the big screen behind them and that was filmed at those earlier shows). This video was filmed at the concerts at PIA Arena in Yokohama at the start of April last year. They performed in Bangkok in Thailand as part of their world tour last year and F Hero made another special guest appearance. F Hero was rapping in Thai to the same rhythm as mixing the ingredients for the salad with a mortar and pestle. They are pretty much saying that, much like the salad, mixing the right spices into life will make that better too.🦊🤘

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。This popular and exhilarating song was performed 94 times 😱 last year in every BABYMETAL's gigs in the world. And so was it on the Day-2 (March 3) of Legend-MM show this year. In June 2019, F. Hero came all the way to Japan from Thai for the world premiere of this song in the two-day shows and he had been very nervous to perform at a huge arena in foreign country. At the premiere performance, Su-Metal shouted "Come on F. Hero!" to summon him and at the end of this song she screamed "Thank you F. Hero!" then the three girls bowed deeply towards him to show their respect. That scene makes me happy. When you attend their show someday, you will come to know it is very hard to keep swinging towel above your head for 4 minutes all along. It is fun. though 😄 .

(Were there any face palms in the CCTV house when you realized it was about papaya, the fruit? 😁) This track is just A+ for me, and another wonderful example of how the Babymetal team puts so much thought into the attendees when writing, choreographing, and composing their songs. Even the way songs are performed evolve over time. 3:49 Su-Metal finishes a phrase and is about to go into the pre-chorus, and her performance calls for one of her patented *DEATH STARES*. Su-Metal either be decision or simply because she is having too much fun... instead gives a half glare that breaks into a smile! Special shout out to Mrs. Coach! So happy to see you enjoying Babymetal, not because it's MY favorite band, but because BM is bringing you joy! That was one of the founding principles of the team. There are two somewhat similar main videos of this song. The music video which features a live performance but with studio audio. It's great...but you-in my opinion-picked the real winner which was the total live performance. The main central difference is that F.Hero a very popular Thai rapper appeared live in Japan for the music video and as you saw had his video taped performance featured here. I love this version as even via KZbin you can practically feel the excitement and joy from the audience and Babymetal. Watching your expressions and hearing the genuine "wow" factor in your voices was almost as much fun as the video itself. And Mrs. Coach so great to see you really enjoying this one. Very nice reaction and thanks to the both of you.

I love the music but I also enjoy seeing people's first reaction which is normally jaw drops, WTF then oh wow yes! You fitted the bill perfectly 😀 Probably suggested before but now you're hooked you should check their first video Doki Doki Morning from 2012 to see how it all began, make sure you use the official studio version as they still perform it live. After that jump to the end of the timeline for their collaboration with Bring Me The Horizon 'Kingslayer' live In Tokyo which is epic not least for how much fun they all seem to be having.

_Matsuri da!_ 🦊🤘🍠 Welcome back to the Foxhole. No SuMetal death stare on this one but pure fun. Last weekend they held two big live shows called Legend MM at Yokohama Arena celebrating MomoMetal's 21 birthday, they brought back some cool songs and MomoMetal got the spotlight when singing Headbanger!! (MomoBanger) and Meta Taro (Momo Taro), we're all proud of her.🍑❤ Last year fans at Bangkok enjoyed this song live with F.Hero as a special guest for the third time performing together after this live version 2019 in Japan, but everyone were enjoying this in every concert, is a hit they don't wanna miss in any of their setlist, except for rare events. F.Hero is a top Thai rapper artist and he's singing/rapping in Thai language, the title is in reference to the papaya fruit used to make a popular Thai salad. Is a fun song to represent and celebrate the mix between these two great cultures, and fans at the World Tour 2023 and more recently at Legend MM enjoyed this song. If you want another rare live performance with Latin rhythm vibes you got "Night Night Burn" live at Legend Metal Galaxy 2020, or with Indian influence like "Shanti Shanti Shanti" official MV, better yet if you look for "folky" vibes then you got "Oh! MAJINAI" ft. Joakim Brodem live at Legend Metal Galaxy 2020 or Budokan 2021, you'll notice almost every BM song got their own unique dance choreo. This song belongs to 3rd album "Metal Galaxy" released in 2019 but this one as well many more songs are exploring a different Babymetal side, sometimes more mature, but trying to not lose their fun. It belongs to the Light Side disc of that album. The footage of this was took from BABYMETAL AWAKENS: The Sun Also Rises 2019 in Yokohama Arena Japan, F.Hero was invited for this, the night before he was really in panic with the amount of people and even throwing all out after the show, It ain't easy to face that crowd, especially after receiving some negative critics from BM fans who didn't like his participation on this, fortunately he recover from this and received a warming welcome. Also that night they introduced the _avengers_ system, a group of three backup dancers filling the third spot that YuiMetal left (she left the group in 2018). They rotate so not always you'll see the same one on stage, usually the live official MV before 2020 is with Kano Fujihira, she started this when having 14 years old, so young like our girls back in their early days. None of them have mic or sing and aren't official members, they just dance. But remember that status change recently when MomoMetal was announced as a new official member. Thanks for sharing this and see you next time 🦊🤘🔥

The Babymetal organization contacted F.Hero to write the rap lyrics. He didn't believe it at first. Not only he provide the rap lyrics, plus Thai music influences to the Song. Babymetal flew him and his wife to Japan to perform with the girls at the debut concert. Awesome! This is probably one of Babymetal's most "commercial" sounding songs, but damn does it rip hard and is a fun time, lol! These gals have been running the crowd since before they were in high school. Su-metal just turned 26 back in Dec 2023, so they are absolute stage generals by now. As others have mentioned, this song is a fun summer festival song about spicy Papaya salad that brings all the people together. F.Hero is a Thai rapper, and in this 3rd album (Metal Galaxy), Babymetal collaborated with many artists and took influences from all over the world. Other collaborations on this album: *Oh Majinai* ft. Joakim of Sabaton *Brand New Day* ft. Tim Hansen and Scott LePage of Polyphia *Distortion* ft. Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy *Da Da Dance* ft. Tak Matsumoto, Guitarist from the Japanese band B'z Other Suggestions: Look up *MetRock 2015* with Babymetal, it's probably one of their craziest audience participation at a festival. Some of the videos should be watermarked already for copyright reasons but man, was this a good show! 🤘🦊

Great reaction! Maybe every fan says this about their favourite band, but I think BABYMETAL and their fans have a special chemistry. The moniker „The One“ doesn’t just include the fans, it’s the fans plus the BABYMETAL members. One doesn’t work without the other. Both feed off each other‘s energy, which makes their live shows so special. I think the dancing plays a great role in this, it acts like a catalyst to the energy transfer from the band to the crowd. And the girls in turn get spurred on by the crowd‘s participation. Another point that contributes to this is the songwriting. Most of their songs are specifically written with some crowd participation in mind. And often those parts are easy to follow, even if you don’t speak Japanese. It’s no coincidence that this works so well, it’s an ingenious concept executed perfectly.

I want to see Babymetal in a huge arena, just to experience a HUGE extravaganza. And you can see that the girls are SO happy with this show, for many reasons,. It's more or less the restart of BM after Momo-Metal joined, and they were so happy the audience welcomed them all back, as they weren't sure how it would go. That said, I've seen them in a small 1200 people venue, and they work just as hard. And I think that must be fun for an artist, to do both huge and large shows. Smaller shows you get really close and you can see their face, they can see yours and it's a good time all around. Going to a smaller venue again this summer, and I don't know how I can make the time go faster. :)

Well, I think a part of their appeal is that they simply don't really attract the standard metal audience. You will find usually guests between 5 and 85 years of age and about 40% of them are female, in a way they have achieved their stated goal to mix up the japanese metal audience, that was starting to look more like a bunch of crazy old men. Instead they caused a huge wave of female metal bands, while Moa has her doubts, there was obviously a stop to filter Bands in this area extremly roughly. They might not look suitable for the japanese market at first, but with some training andvexperience they might gathet enough audience in the USA and Europe to attract bigger japanese crowds and then you have your succesfull Band. Bnds like Nemophilia and Lovebytes and others surely profited from Babymetals Bowwave, especially after they rockedvin 2014 the complete british Sonicsphere Festival wirh the help of Give me Chocolate that went viral on KZbin and an interview of Iron Maiden that had seen them in Japan. They were designed wirh a special target for the japanese market but they became the most succesfull japanese Band internationally.

I like this song, but I would LOVE it if all the male voices (gang chants and rap) were removed and replaced with something by Moa and Momo.

Pa Pa Ya is a stable song in their shows and as you saw, it gets the crowd going, spinning their towels around. To no surprise they played it last weekend at Legend MM and it is as great as ever. I flew to Yokohama to attend both shows to celebrate Momometals 21st birthday and it was a blast! If you like rap songs, you should defo check out “BxMxC” next! You won’t be disappointed!!! 🦊🤘🔥
