They COULD HAVE taken aggressive measures to protect democracy and did not (e.g., end the filibuster; codify Roe; pack SCOTUS; prosecute federal crimes…).

I’m very supportive of Democrats. I was behind them throughout the election and remain proud of Harris/Walz now. I went up kindly and said "14th amendment" and then said "What are you guys doing about it? It's something lawyers think about a lot. Also, under the way lawyers are trained in law schools, established precednnt is only supposed to be overturned in the case of new compelling info. (For instance, if viabiljty was suddenly at 12 weeks instead of 24.) They aren't supposed to overturn stare decisis, preceddent, and reliance just because they had have the numbers as they did and have done on multiple issues, including Chevrron and Miranda (of all things!) etc, etc, etc.

They were in power for four years and Trump made no moves to increase his power outside the bounds of the Constitution. Most of the violence on January 6th was Trumbeforep finished speaking, and the FBI found no evidence the riot was organized, so Trump had nothing to do with it. Also, we now have camera footage of the entrance into the Capitol, which shows the "rioters" behaving more peacefully than most tour groups, and there was minimal property damage beyond a few broken windows. Trump even offered to send 10,000 National Guard soldiers to the Capitol, and it was Nancy Pelosi, the Democrat leader of the House of Representatives, that denied it. So MAGA Republicans did nothing remotely fascist in the four years they had power, and now we're supposed to believe that they're going to this time around? -There is no evidence Tulsi Gabbard has any connection to Putin or Russia. -There was nothing "peculiar" about this election. It went exactly how the pre-2020 elections went. The winner was called at a very normal time, and there is no evidence of anything sketchy happened beyond a few rogue bomb threats. -Trump and his supporters have made zero comments suggesting they will cut Social Security and saying that people will have to live without healthcare is absolutely baseless and absurd. -Trump is actually outspokenly pro-LGBTQ so saying they have to worry is just fearmongering. There is nothing that would indicate that their children will be taken from them. -What do women have to worry about whatsoever? Trump is clearly not a misogynist (he's appointed at least three women to his cabinet so far and had his campaign led by a woman), and he is relatively lenient on abortion. Again, he was in office for four years already and did nothing to hurt women. -Republicans have expressed no desire to get rid of access to contraception. -Trump is not a sexual predator, and if you want to say he is you have to say Bill Clinton is one also and that Hillary was at least complicit with his sexual abuse. Also, his cabinet has zero predators. Matt Gaetz is the only one to be accused of such and the case against him was so weak even Biden's DOJ didn't even try to go after him. Pete Hegseth was acquitted in a court of law of sexual predator accusations. -Conservative Christians do not see women as subordinate, we see them as made in the image of God (Gen. 1:26). Wives are called to follow their husbands and are forbidden from being pastors but that does not mean they are completely subservient. In fact, we actually see a young Christian preacher, Apollos, get educated on religion by a woman, Priscilla, in the New Testament. The first to witness Christ's resurrection were women, and Proverbs 31 describes a virtuous woman as having a worth "far above rubies". -I genuinely have no idea what "white reparations" she is referring to. Anyway, Trump delivered the Platinum Act to the black community, increasing schooling opportunities for underprivileged black youth and bringing their communities criminal justice reform. Trump also achieved the lowest black unemployment in American history during his first term. -Again, what do trans people have to worry about regarding Trump. All he is doing is pushing to ban sex transition surgeries for minors, which is objectively a crime as it has massive ramifications that said minors are not made aware of. -What "long-eradicated diseases" are going to kill children? And why did they not kill anyone during Trump's first term? And how is Trump going to make children more at risk of dying from them? This accusation doesn't even make remote sense. -Trump is going to do nothing to eradicate public schools or force private Christian schooling on anyone. All his is pushing for is a basic belief of God in the classroom and the Bible to be taught to kids (not necessarily as the truth). -There is nothing disabled people have to worry about. Trump even signed a law allocating $2 billion dollars towards autism research during his first term. -No legal immigrants will be deported, so only illegal immigrants (who, I might remind you, are criminals) have anything to worry about. -Harris is more well known for words salads and hideous cackles than anything else, and Walz has been closely linked to Communist China and is sympathetic to the ideology (he's also been accused of pedophilia). Neither were even close to great candidates. There's 16 lies. Hope I didn't miss any.

As I got older I realized it made more sense to vote for the person rather than the party, and considered myself a moderate independent. Except she is wrong about one thing. Harris and Walz were bad candidates. Harris never had run a real election before. In California she won non competitive elections with a boost from Mayor Brown who she had been involved with. A couple of their journalists quit their posts because of that. The Washington Post didn't endorse either, but that's easy to understand why... Jeff Bezos owns the Post. And since the election very little has come forth regarding who voted and which way they voted, breakdowns in respect to age, sex, ethnicity etc... 60% of the voters in this country are women. I too would like for dem leadership to address the election concerns many people have! I would love for Joe Biden to get off his azz and start making executive orders or have the chambers get some stuff done prior to him leaving office! Their inaction is maddening!
