We did a full Lutron lighting controlled house this year. Every single light was wired as a radial back to the Lutron panel with each keypad (switch) ran back to the Lutron panel or in series dependent on the design. It works perfectly fine but definitely took a bit of understanding when we first started.

Really enjoying watching this project. This and the battery/solar install are really informative and interesting. Hope you’re doing ok with the meds and the other bits and pieces you’ve talked about. Keep up the good work!

4:37 It was quite relaxing watching you just work without the commentary (no offense intended at all haha). I've never actually seen a perspective of work like this before. I has me wanting to see a whole task from start to finish done in this format haha!

Great video again, the longer fischer nylon plugs are a godsend for longer screws although you can daisy chain two smaller ones, clipping off the end

Those grip-its are fantastic. Used them to hold 25mm3c to plasterboard. Just a shame they're so expensive!

I wish 5 Amp sockets for switched lighting circuits were more common, even become a standard fitting. They're so useful and practical.

Recently went wombling(with offical premissison) off a shut down shown room all the good stuff has been stripped out it was intetesting to see what remained.

Why is your PE wire not sleeved from the factory? seems like a lot of trouble for the tradesmen but not the producer of the cable :D

Super sparky experts, how do you know when you're being ripped off by your sparky? I've been quoted for some work and I have a sneaking suspicion it's rather high! Are there any signs to look for? I have a garden room which is currently supplied by a 6mm SWA with its own 2 way CU. It literally supplies 3 indoor sockets and one outdoor socket. I'm having a hot tub installed and asked for a quote for a 32A isolator and tail to supply it. My sparky has told me the CU needs changing for a new one with RCBO's. I won't say what I've been quoted, but I'll say it's 4 digits. This seems excessive to me for a CU change, a rotary isolator and about 10 metres of 6mm SWA. 🤷🏽♂️ 🤷🏽♂️ 🤷🏽♂️ And this is Midlands, not London!

@@Sparks9133 if this was “site work” I’d completely agree with you. But if you watch Nicks videos he goes above and beyond what is required for an install. I’m not saying what he has done is wrong, it’s completely fine.

@@Sparks9133I know what you mean. He just does things his way. We used to have 2 squads of 4 lads that did an occupied house rewire each a day. The local authority wanted speed and quality (they never got both). Mind you this was about 10 years ago and we only charged about £1200 per rewire. So about £12,000 a week for the 10 houses. I think most sparks charge more than that for 1 rewire now.
