for real I love the rifle. The alt fire was godly at crowd control and if you shoot in bursts at the limbs they break off without much ammo loss. I think a lot of players I've seen resort to spraying too much. Plus it's clutch for most of the big boss fights/sequences.

i think it was called the intensity system or something they used for this game so even going to a room youve already been through can be different every time. the lights being off randomly, random noises, and random enemy spawns were a great addition. The lights randomly going on or off especially really added to the concept of the ship falling apart. the og game got dull after a handful of playthroughs cause you could basically kill the enemies before they even finished spawning.

The USG Ishimura has got to be one “those” places in video games. Everything about this place sucks. The only way to describe it is HELL. And that’s why it’s a horror classic. I still remember being scarred out of my mind when I played the first game back then. I wasn’t even in elementary school playing this game. Me and my brother were playing this game like crazy. I remember how the demo ended too. You opened a crate and a necromorph came out and spiked tf out of you. I remember running around trying to figure wtf was going on. Would spent countless out playing and watching lore videos. I love this series to death and even more Dead Space 2. If there’s a god a pray that MOTIVE makes that game aswell. Dead Space is literally a part of my life. And this remake is something I hold very near and dear to my heart. Love this series.

So the lore on how the Dead Universe works from what I remember correctly, is the marker makes people go insane. Some quicker than others. Which will lead to people dying or killing themselves. The marker's signals also reanimate organic material to become Necromorphs. From there the Necros attack and kill people so more can be made. The process is much much quicker if an Infector Necro can infect dead bodies.

Watch the Dead Space Downfall movie. An infector, and a slasher got on board from Aegis 7 because the guy flew up to the Ishimura carrying those monsters on board thinking its safe haven, but the necromorphs got him and crashed into the hanger bay.

However, it too fell because of the mania and necromorphs, so they build the machine to freeze the whole planet to prevent convergence and the moon from wiping out the whole galaxy. Dead Space Martyr talks about Michael Altman on how he discovered the black marker back on Earth in the Gulf of Mexico. In short, Earth Gov wanted to use the marker for research purposes and Altman wanted the whole process to stop. There was a minor necromorph outbreak which is technically the first for the humans on Earth in a facility at the ocean. Altman sank it down, but was captured by Earth Gov and trapped him in a room with a necromorph and killed him. So Earth Gov used Altman as a Martyr and help formed Unitology.

games today have a common practice that drives you absolutely stir crazy with the stuttering making you believe its your machine when its not.... 2:15:00 wish there was a scifi game that takes place in setting outside in space of a ship.. like Alien Isolation when your outside the ship... wheres a game like that?

Yeah that's one of the main things I hate about 3rd party games. You won't see this kind of shit with first party games especially PS exclusives
