The way Max finished Crow off was iconic. Crow stabbed him in the back, rushed him in the first minute of the fight, bashed his head in against a window, and got his health to red in moments. Then Max turned everything around by using the same window Crow was throwing him against to end him. Crow's angry haste was what finished him off, *and Max didn't even know three throws against the windows was an instant KO in this stage.*

I remembered my build for this game: max speed first (speed is everything!) then alternate maxing upper and lower (since you will go martial artist > wrestling > kickboxing) basic combo is just spam punches, and if enemy tries to block try adding some kicks recommended blazing moves: speedbag, rocksteddy, push over, game over thank you for playing this game Max, it really brings back those childhood memories of mine.

I did the same thing but wrestling -> kickboxing -> streetfighting. Felt it gave me the most variety in gameplay, I could punch, kick, and throw people for KOs and big damage. Martial artist and submission always seemed like a ton of fun but I felt like I would be missing my good punches and kicks if I gave one of those styles up

What Max never realized, cause he threw Crow out the window right away, was that you can't actually beat Crow without using the stage finisher. You can get him to danger and then hit all the KO moves you want on him, but the game doesn't end unless you throw him through the window.

The only thing I didn't like was that if you had more than one person on the tracks, you only saw ONE person getting creamed. Watching Max play this story mode made me remember why I like this game so much in the first place, so much so that I just played it again myself while watching Max play it, the story holds up really well, the game is obviously broken and if you know how to exploit the A.I with the right fighting style, you feel dirty playing it that way lol.

Pockets is so fast, mobile, and aggressive in Hard you'll hardly ever get an opportunity to land a long clinch. Always go for the short throw to walls or objects and build up that short clinch to Blazing.

The reason Max couldn't land his Blazing is he kept trying to tie it to his long clinch kicks. When you get that opportunity in the higher tier fights in Hard Mode, you take that short grab, activate the Blazing, and you like it. Otherwise, 75% of the time, you'll lose it before you land it. The CPU gets super evasive starting with the betrayal arc.

So much bad advice in these comments. You get a stun first or counter, then activate blazin' then go for hard grab, opponent is (usually) stunned again for another hard grab afterwards.

Max the chat should've told you that depending on the order and choices of styles you gain, It can create one of 10 hidden fighting styles for your fighter to imitate. For example: MA, WR, SF in that order creates the drunken kung fu or fist fighting style MA, WR, SUB in that order creates the Jeet Kune Do fighting style 😎 Also the psp version for def jamy fight for ny has a different story and fighting mechanics like ground and pound

They need to make a sequal to THIS GAME ignore the 3rd one we need a bigger and better storyline and maybe bring back sticky as a phantom fighter that we don’t know who he is until halfway through the game and then we fight crow again but he is madder and has a bigger crew cause both of them have been fighting across the country while we have been training someone new and maybe they can let us go across the country as DLC or maybe make it a second story after the main one is done this game was so good back in the day.
