Philly is actually in a much better position to compete in the next couple years.The trade didn’t exactly help the right now, but next year they’ll be big players. Tobias on his last year, Covington and Morris too. They’ll have good money to spend to get a 2nd or 3d option depending on if Maxey can maintain his production. They also have picks they can use to trade for better depth. It was a lose lose situation. The timeline still fits with Embiid’s prime also.

If Westbrook is willing to be Draymond, this works just fine. Have WB aim to get double digit assist and rebound every night; have harden aim for 18-8; have Kawhi and PG be willing to only average 23 a game. No problem. Warriors did it.

Even if he wanted to Westbrook couldn't do what Draymond did in his prime. People can shit on Draymond because he's annoying and triple-double but very few players can do what he does, even if they're more talented than he is. Incredible understanding of the game combined with great decision-making and always being team-first (except when he throws a hissy fit and gets ejected in the middle of a crucial game lol)

Since Russ' contact is reduced, I think it'll be easy for him to alternate from starter to bench with James Harden. I still don't see the Clippers winning a championship this year and the best overall scenario is that they make it back to the conference finals. And honestly, I think this move is just a safety net since both Kawhi and Paul George can leave in free agency.

I don’t think Russ coming off the bench, he’s starting. Russ isn’t a high volume shot taker anymore, Russ will attack closeouts, set screens, post u, offball cut to the rim to score at the rim and score in transition, so that’s how Russ will adjust to Harden coming to the team. I believe Russ will change his shot selection & shoot more corner 3s and that’s been effective for him since he been to the Clippers

Philly got a lot better, and Im a Clipper fan. They already have DeAnthony Melton and Maxey to facilitate and do the little things. Batum and RoCo are huge. The Clippers are the ones who risked everything, because like you said, Russ was just getting used to the system and it felt like it started to click.
