Thank you, Dr. Yo. These videos help me find the strength to keep going. I was told by the ENT, quote, “ you have an inner ear disease and there is no cure.” Being a trauma survivor, I went straight to extreme fight or flight, which increased all my symptoms. It took months of working with a trauma therapist to get my system to calm enough to even begin this work. Horrifying. I am steadily maki g progress now. Your videos are dead on accurate. Grateful to you.

Hi. My name is mark, living in Tampa Florida. One year ago my life was turned upside down with dizzyness, light sensitivity, migraines and gastrointestinal issues. My story sounds like the majority of your interviewees. I don’t know how much more of this torture I can take. Do you know of any resources I can use in my area. I was diagnosed with vestibular neuritis. No other organic cause. I do have generalized anxiety disorder. I was at the gym over doing it as usual, when later that day I had an attach of dizzyness followed by headaches a few weeks later. Thanks and thank you so much for producing these videos.

For me. This nightmare started more than 12 years ago. I was having symptoms 24/7. The symptoms were so all over the place that nobody could figure out what was going on with me. It wasn't until I saw the cardiologyst a year and a half ago and he adviced me to take electrolytes that I started to enjoy life a little. At that momment I was diagnosed with Dysautonomia/POTS. My POTS symptoms are very well controlled now; but my vertigo symptoms not that much. I do not really get that spinning sensation anymore, but I still have some issues of feeling off balance, extreme neck tightness and many others. Actually, I thought that I was doing pretty good, almost back to norma until I stsrted to think back all those things that I had not been able to do and I mentally collapsed. This is just exhausting

This was extremely reassuring to listen to. I've had suspected vestibular neuritis for 4 months. I just had 2 weeks straight where I felt 80-90% better, but for the past week I've felt increasingly more dizzy and off, which alerted my fight or flight response. I keep worrying that I'm back tracking in my recovery and that I'll only get worse. I need to remind myself that this is normal and part of the process
@TheSteadyCoach Жыл бұрын
I am so glad this resonated with you, Katie. Ups and downs are a completely normal part of the recovery process. Even though at times you may feel you are moving backwards, you are continuing to move forwards in your recovery.

Oh I loved this interview as Dr Stracks is reassuring, candid, un afraid to express how he personally feels (which in itself is super grounding for listeners), + non judgmental about EVERYTHING. My aha was hearing that the brain doesn’t only register danger in the body but in the environment (which I’m assuming is expressed as pain (dizziness) the same way in the body as if we thought it was a biomedical issue or the body responding to danger). That might seem like an obvious connection but for me it now clarifies the danger role + gives me better perspective + relief (due to this understanding/synergy). Ty as always Dr Yoni for selecting high calibre ppl who have developed this knowledge + represent great safety for our bodies to absorb.

Thank you so much for the kind words Lynn!!! Dr. Stracks is truly one of the experts in this field and it is incredibly reassuring to people with dizziness to hear him talk to them. He really did speak very pointedly about the medical system and I had to stop myself from getting up and cheering!

Do you find it is a fine line between telling a patient it’s “just anxiety” or “it’s all in your head” and successfully conveying there are actually mind/body components which doesn’t mean they are a “head case” and can’t be taken seriously. I have relatives who have been what I call medically gaslit with the former terms and would have a hard time entertaining these concepts even if put in the latter terms. It’s almost like folks need an elevator speech to share this concept with those who are suffering without triggering their negative medical experiences. Maybe a video on communications with loved ones who are suffering? Love your work and this was a great interview!

I've been suffering from the same and more since 2017 to today Sept. 09,2023 and I don't believe it will stop because I have gotten no help from Maui Doctors, Neurologist, Psychiatrist, Therapist, etc. I have basically been robbed of 6 years that I can never get back. In the beginning, I downgraded by selling everything of value to continue surviving thinking I'd get better but only got more frustrated, The more I felt lost, the more anger I felt by all these professionals. I was not stressed at the time of event but I have scars on my face/head and i have served 2 terms in the Navy but the Doctors wont even look closer into my lifestyle because then they might realize that disrespecting someone like me has consequences that is of my hands.

I’ve been dealing with dizziness (off balance) chronically for 10 yrs now. Multiple neurologists, ENT’s, specialists, vestibular rehab therapy, PT for cervicogenic dizziness. Dx with mold, Lyme, POTS, vestibular migraines, CFS, MCS. Lots of supplements and medication. Also have brain fog, head/ear fullness, tinnitus. I’m learning a lot about neuroplasticity / mind body healing. Your videos are so helpful. Have you seen people heal mold/viruses through mind body work? POTS? Once out of fight or flight I’ve heard the body can heal these conditions. Curious your experience with these conditions. Thank you!

Yes- when people have as many symptoms and diagnoses as you do, the MORE LIKELY it is that ALL of them are from the same common cause! Many people have viruses and infections and have no symptoms.

I really think my chronic dizziness comes from a breakup that I was blindsided with. I think it’s a trauma response. Over a year and a half now. Totally debilitating. I’m unable to stand and walk around because I get too dizzy to do even every day tasks. Very difficult situation. So stressed,
@TheSteadyCoach Жыл бұрын
So tough, Karla. It has been my experience that mind and body are the same system and yes, something stressful like that can absolutely produce a trauma response. I know this may not feel like good news, but it is REALLY good that you know the source of the stress. You know what to process and what to respond to.

Thank you for this intervuew. I have a question., i am a very sensitive person., and a person who analize a LOT - to much., so when my dizzynest start a year ago., in the biggining i was afarid i got really sick., i was allways afraid of doctors: so knowing that i need to do a check out of my body was stressfull for me. Then Covid came and i was afraid it might be bed... after i did all the medical tests done i start beliving it is stress and for sure it was for me., a lot od thing were going on in my life. And i started to "organize my life again"., but the thing is- because i was dizzy i coulnt work., i got finacial problems next to all the problems i had with my health... so i belive tje journey to recovered will be so much long., until i will not solved all my problems: and that puts me under stress... i am meditating, doing wim hoff breathing., i start doing sport again ehich my my No.1 thing before getting dizzy... but what i want to say is... fixing things will take time for me., and it is hard to do all of it while still beeing under stress because you couldnt do a normal thing- like going to a job for 5 months... it is a journey... but i know i will make it! All of us will... and thanks for your help Dr.

I totally understand that, Ursa. I think you already saw this video but it’s a good reminder- you do NOT need to fix all outside stress to get better. Stress is what happens on the inside, not the outside. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqDHooqdgNuIrNk

I’m still struggling with the fact that I was diagnosed with MdDS after getting back from a cruise. Since 2008, I have repeatedly been told (like others diagnosed with MdDS) that my brain never readjusted to being back on land. It was a specific event (a cruise) that seems to have caused all of the symptoms. How do you translate this to a mind body connection? By the way, Dr. Stracks, I’m sorry you were involved in the Southwest Airlines debacle. My husband is a pilot for them and feels so badly for the passengers.
@TheSteadyCoach Жыл бұрын
Hi Loraine! The simple answer: what initially sets off the symptoms is usually not the same as what makes them chronic. About 50% of the people I work with had a precipitating event that initially caused symptoms- medical or otherwise. Land sickness (rocking, bobbing, swaying) after a cruise is actually normal. What causes it to stay put is where danger mode comes in, and that usually has to do with the other things going on in the person’s life at the time (or earlier in life).

Hey Dr, I'm a 19 year old male and have had constant dizziness for just over a year now. I've had every test imaginable, and about 6 months ago, I got diagnosed with vestibular migranes. Even after talking with many medical professionals and watching tons of your I'm still confused to why this started in the first place. It started in the happiest and healthiest part of my life and it has flipped it upside down. I've been taking betahistine which helps a little bit and also Endep for around 4 months. Also been doing vestibular exercise and seeing a physiotherapist who specialises in vestibular disorders. Nothing has improved if anything, I now also have fullness in the ears. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I would highly recommend you take the course and pay special attention to steps 5 and 6. The course is 100% free. Many people come down with these conditions NOT during a period of stress but there is often emotional distress underlying it. In fact, i have seen several clients whose symptoms ironically started when they were finally safe and feeling great. This is related to the latency of the stress response.
