He’s young. He’ll eventually realize he doesn’t need this woman to be happy. That’s if he has any self respect for himself.

This is BS. Every Asian parent teaches their daughters that their youth and beauty is their ticket to landing a desirable husband and that it is fleeting. I've been told this many many times by women while traveling throughout Asia.

Yes but that's also performative femininity. And with the modern turn, the whole 'masculine and independent' narrative (study well, get good job) is now impressed onto girls in Asia (you know how excelling in school, work, and social status are huge in Asian societies), alongside the pressure of 'being a woman' (looking pretty and demure, don't speak up, be 'useful' and do housework, etc) since young. Then suddenly after 20 questions like "when are you getting married?" and "when are you gonna have kids?" start to come in. So its incredibly confusing for modern Asian women too. And with this kind of education of performative femininity, girls are also not taught to be in touch with their own feelings and bodies, express themselves healthily and authentically, and have proper boundaries, and suffer both in the workplace and in relationships. I have met alot of girls in my dating life (dated Indian and Chinese girls) who were traumatised (by their very own mothers) and hence resistant to 'femininity' due to this kind of femininity pushed upon them since young, and it feels easier, truer and more authentic for themselves to then just reject their feminine experience all together and just 'go their own way', because at least one does not have to put up a show just to rely on others, and just take care of oneself. What I hear from this video is an embodied femininity that's open to life, open to the heart and in touch with our bodies, not merely performative to 'hook a man' or 'win at life' (as the core of performative femininity is still covertly masculine and goal-oriented).

Great video. Women need to hear this message and learn it when they're young. You're one of the fortunate ones, a bit older but due to good genetics, (not discounting that you obviously take care of yourself also), you most likely still have options with quality men. Most women your age don't. And they learn these lessons too late- leading to bitterness, frustration, misandry and ... cats.

Firstly don't blame your father, just like you he found himself in an environment that considered men being masculine and authoritarive as toxic but it's ok for women to be masculine and promiscuous which are qualities men don't find attractive. Just because a concept is old doesn't mean it's outdated. Also what was your mom doing not teaching you feminine ways, just asking. About your younger boyfriend I think you should sit down and have a serious conversation about the future such as childbirth etc, he's young he might be lead by his desire for sex and not thinking properly, as you approaching ur 40's you margin of errors becomes smaller so be fair and logical. It's sad you only came to this realization now, but better late than never. Wishing you the best, I know lots of women in your position some even older, good women but mislead by feminism, one of them is in her fifties always angry, wish she could forgive herself.

You have just gone from one ego role to another. But you are still stuck in your thoughts... & thats means you are still stuck in exactly the same matrix. You are still asleep. Wake up! You need to discover yourself soon & this way of thinking is ok BUT it does not lead you out of the tunnel! Good luck
