mormonstories the ultimate rite of passage in Mormonism. If the church decides to reform, you could be welcomed back with open arms

@@robpaulson7992 I was at a party here in Washington & a guy from Utah happened to be there. Of course I asked him if he grew up Mormon. He said yes, but that he was out of the church now. I mentioned how much I love Mormon Stories & he was amazed I knew who Dr. John Dehlin was. He said it was John who helped him get out of the church. He was so grateful for John’s guidance through his exit process. It has made a huge difference in his life.

I discovered Steven Hassan while researching MLMs after being briefly involved in one as a “discount coach.” I left the MLM because there were so many similarities between the one I was involved with and my past being raised Mormon. It was easy to walk away from the MLM because I had already went through the excruciating experience of leaving in 2005 and removing my records from the Mormon church in 2008. Mormon stories is improving and saving lives. Thank you for bringing Steven Hassan on. It can help people from getting involved in harmful groups.

We went through the BITE definitions to rank the church. We found these characteristics interesting and that our rankings would be different than active Mormons, who would excuse many characteristics. Those who have never been Mormon might not see the significant subtle (implied, cultural) influences that the church has over members. We tried to be fair and objective from a "been there done that" point of view. We rank the church accordingly: Behavior Control: 66% Information Control: 94% Thought Control: 90% Emotion Control: 86%

L S do you have a breakdown of your criteria? It would be interesting to see how you arrived at these figures.

Brasil66 A group of us read the characteristics and ranked each 1 through 10. 10 being the highest likely to fit that characteristic. Then calculated a percentage for each area.

I sought out this video around the Vallow Daybell court case. Quick scroll through your channel doesn't show any content on this case, is it true you haven't any coverage on Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell?

Have you ever talked to John Atak? He’s a good friend of Steve Hassan and has a similar back story but his experience was with Scientology; he’s also a Scientology historian and scholar and could prob talk for hrs with you as you’re both interesting ppl with a wealth of wisdom & experiences to drawn upon whom are devoted to helping ppl transition to a better life outside of the cult & raising awareness of ppl in order to prevent or step away from undue influence, among many other things.
