Interesting discussion. There is a blessing in being single. I can totally relate to what all the girls are saying about having freedom. While you're single, take advantage of all the freedom you have. Travel, eat out, go to the movies alone, pamper yourself, pursue your dreams, etc.

I'm the same way! I have gotten really good at being single. I go on dates here and there if I meet someone interesting. But nothing serious has come out of them. Guys will say they want an "independent" woman. But if you give them space, don't blow up their phone every 5 mins, and basically are not needy, they get confused! I think it gets harder to date when you hit your 30's. Also like Jeannie was saying, dating is a lot of work. You really have to dig through the BS. It gets exhausting. For the most part, I like my single life. Maybe one day I will meet that "unicorn"!

I mean the good things in life in general (good career, genuine friends, committed partners etc.) need work and patience. I love what Adrienne said at the end. When you're single don't think about the negative of " oh I'm lonely or I don't have a man" you don't have to be lonely when you're alone. I get what you're saying but I do agree I think it's more about Loni's delivery when she talks about being single, she always seems to be exaggerating dating stories that I think people just don't believe her. Like for instance when Whoopi Goldberg on The View talks about how she's been married before and has no interest in doing it again, recently said she likes to hit it & quit it, I don't think people question her...because even though I hear people say they find her "unattractive" she seems genuine plus Whoopi in the past has been linked to a number of men. I do agree when people think someone is unattractive they often assume they can't be picky and are desperate, but I think in Loni's case specifically a lot of people think her stories on The Real are either exaggerated or straight up lies.

Everyones relationship is different. I have been in a relationship with 'freedom' (going to barnes & nobles to sit on the floor for two hours without being looked at weird), I have been full blown single and extremely happy. Now, I am married and I dont have the same freedom as the first two BUT I do almost EVERYTHING with my husband. We travel the world full-time, we go to the movies together, we party together, we pamper each other and we encourage ourselves to follow our dreams. Now THATS another level that everyone should experience.

It’s not about being married, it’s about when you live with someone. But even then, it’s just double checking in with the person to see if you guys had something planned that day. Which really isn’t a big deal. Even when you’re single and you have a friend asking to hangout, you have to see if you don’t have something planned with another friend or an appointment or something. It’s if you have kids, then that’s the problem because that takes way more planning.

That wasn't my point, the point I was making is, we don't know if they are really lies because she's a comedian I think they're just jokes disguised as stories. When you're a person that likes to be funny and make folks laugh you do things like that and I can relate, I think that just like most people these days you're knit picking at something that most likely isn't even a factor. If you know comedians and how it works to be comedians you'd easily be able to tell that this is what they do, they hardly ever tell true stories or scenarios, not saying they never do but rarely. Even considering this show, she's doing what she was hired to do, which is be herself, she talks about real stuff on this show all of the time.

Omg, this could have been such a juicy conversation. Ugh. I kinda miss dating, I am in a happy and healthy 5+ year relationship now but we just started to technically live together so I do miss meeting new people and seeing different sides of mens personality and not being obligated to always inform someone of what I'm doing or how late I'll be gone or who I'm with.
